I'm $100 minimum and still lose jobs due to price from new customers.
$50 a room 2 room minimum or 300 sq ft. Unless it's trashed. Price goes up from there.

It’s a minimum not a job average
That's fine if you have techs and need to keep them working or if they can upsell a little. Every market is different. I do the odd job for less if it's within 5 minutes of me but really can't make money at less than $150 unless I was doing 5 jobs a day.

Ill sometimes do a job for less than my minimum- for a current client, but it has to be super easy and the client must agree to my regular minimum 1st.

If he makes $10 an hour you're asking for 2/3rds of his weekly take home for 2 hours of maid work, show some pity..
$10 an hour in California - AAHAHAHAHA! If a guy can't make minimum wage he doesn't have carpet. Guys living in boxes make more than that.

It comes down to knowing your cost. What does it cost you per job, when you factor in all of your overhead? If you know that figure, then you can add in what you think is a reasonable profit and that should be your minimum charge. Many carpet cleaners don't know that figure.

We have our minimum set up as $159 for 3 rooms up to 200 sqft per room and most people also get some stairs cleaned which always boost us over the $230 mark

I suspect some employees of other companies sabotage the portable so that it wont work.

I suspected that of our employees as well since we were having a lot of portable jobs that had "issues" that caused them not to be able to be done that day and needed to be rescheduled. I changed up our policy so that if a portable job had to reschedule, for whatever reason, the original crew would be the one going back. No big surprise, we stopped having "issues" on portable jobs.

I found that most of our day-of reschedules were due to the tech, not the customer, so any job that reschedules the day of the job gets done by the original tech.

I suspected the rescheduling tech knew of a difficulty with the job: portable, lack of parking, long hose run, picky customer... and found a reason to reschedule. Had to let the guys know they couldn't get away with throwing crap on their buddies, and that their next job might be with a franchise.
