Nasty! That's why I replace my ends and cut the hose a little as soon as it starts to go soft. My heats not extreme any more, max about 230 f. Still hot enough to scald you though. I buy my hoses a little longer, about 125 feet, so I can cut a section off when I replace the ends. I am also a little more careful about how I treat my hoses. I try not to stress it where it connects both to the truck and the wand.
