No one will know your LOWEST price you can sell it to me 'cept you and me

include shipping price to area code 44412

MUST be 1.5HP
no larger than 17"

I'm ready to buy right now.

First one in with a winner will sell dozens.

There are deals to be had out there guys, you just have to look. Sometimes being in the right place at the right time helps, too.

I picked up on a 17" 1.5 HP Sanitaire, with pad driver, used maybe 2 or 3 times judging by how immaculate it is, for $300 from a pawn shop on E-bay. I was apprehensive to buy from a pawn shop, or even used in general, but have to say it hasn't missed a beat yet. My machine brand new would be in the $1000 range, so to pick this one up in damn near brand new condition for $300 was a no brainer. Luckily the shop was just in Northern Illinois, so i could drive the 2 hour drive and save on freight and not worry about any shipping damage. But, there is no warranty with mine, unlike buying new. I figured I'd gamble with a good used one, since they seem to be pretty bulletproof. I was able to test it out before I layed down the cash, and it was all good. :D

Let me say what all suppliers must say to themselves when they read these posts:

"What a bunch of f'n hypocrites. They go on and on complaining about customers wanting a better price and this or that asshole B & S cleaner only charges this, all the while being cheapskate mother f'ers themselves"

In fairness I never hear Larry complain about less expensive cleaners or customers, but I had to post this to point out some of the hypocrasy I see and I am sure the vendors feel.

Hey,

When I make a big buy, I post it on the boards so all the supplires
can see what I'm buying and if they want to send a bid for what i need for
my business so be it.

I mean, why buy a o-ring from the carpet supplier for $25
when you can get it at True-Value for .8 :)

I'm consistant in my bus. I try to get the best price for everything, leveraging our size and quantity purchases and I do not complain about customers who are looking to do the same. I think my point was missed by some.

Mr. Snow...

I didn't miss your point....I was just RATTLING your CAGE ..."a-little" :)

My point is ....Larry's post or any other member posting for a better price is
perfectly acceptable..
One of the BIG advantages of this board...is having Good Disty's respond to our needs.
"He did ask the vendors...to PM him! As to not create a bidding war in an open forum..
It is my guess ? That the vendor that took the time to RESPOND..Would probably earn
his business! "Not the CHEAPEST price!"

We all here know  How BIG,How SUCESSFUL,How MANY TRUCKS,How MANY JOBS,
****************** How MUCH MONEY YOU PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES,How MANY ****************** LOCATIONS, & How... "You are Legend in your own mind."

"Not that you care  " IMHO..Most here will NEVER understand the type of pressure &
personal sacrifice that you..Have & DO Endure". "It is "Truely Lonely At The TOP"...........

The responibilty... of your decisions ....effect the lives of all that you touch..You have to
weigh every one of them with a grain of salt ! The Art of balancing these "RISK-REWARD"
decisions fall squarely on YOUR SHOULDERS.. Thus I DO NOT ENVY YOU!.... "Tough Job"

Most of you post are VERY helpful :!: You have a Wealth of Knowlege to share 8)

But as of LATE .....Some can come across as CONDESCENDING

"When I know that is not your intention."

ps Your area is getting SLAMED in this ECONOMY....."Hang Tough"

Thanks for the feedback Joe- I will think about that. My intent is not to be condescending, nor to be focused on how great we are. I and we are struggling every day.

Thank's For the "CLASSEY" reply :!:

I am SERIOUS ...".That I wish you & your family the BEST in these times :!: "

I have owed & run "high volume businesses"...And ANY interruption in that CASH-FLOW..
Can be EXTREEMLY painful!!!! It also seems to me ....that you are the type of OWNER
that CARES about his employees as if they are FAMILY :!: :!: :!:

And when the biz slows........As you know...It EXPLODES the "bottom-line".

I hope that you don't interpret my post as too personal or forward :?:

In this economy ...."Downsizing" is not in and way..A sign of failure...It SMART BUSINESS!!!

I personally FAILED... ..to "Pull the Trigger" quick-enough..once trying to avoid
laying employees off..."In the END...I did no-one any favors "

I am SURE your company will Hang Tough in thes times.....
But if gets worse :( :( :( "PULL THE TRIGGER" :!: We can all fight another day

We are doing that in our retail bus which has really ground to a halt like any other retailer of non-essential goods. We have trimmed showroom and backroom support staff to a minimum and are reducing hours on everyone in both retail and cleaning bus's except for those directly involved in production. My partners and I all took large pay cuts as well. We will make it.

Thanks again Joe,

Ken

and a snappy dresser too....

I've read over the years some CC'rs posts and how they got all huffy when someone wanted to negotiate price for their services.
You know, I've never understood why someone would get indignant over that.
It's either yes or no, but surely no reason to be offended .

same for any disty/supplier.
I'm ready to buy and "someone" is going to make a sale.
So either they will deal on a sure sale or they won't.
it doesn't offend me if they can't/won't deal, and it shouldn't offend them that I'm looking for the best value.

Note that i said best "value"...not the "cheapest" priced one.

all they have to do is convince me why their product is worth more than lowest priced rotary
(which as far as I see, it Pow'rFlite's)

lastly, we're all biz to make money.
A disty/supplier can make 5-10% over their cost on a sure sale, (which can be dropped shipped from manufacture/wholesaler warehouse)
or they can sit on one on their showroom floor for a month or two or 4 and make 30%

convince me why your's is the best "value", and do it on this thread for all to read and PM your best price + shipping to 44412 area code
(price will remain confidential)
BTW, I'm of the few around here that CAN keep a secret

Larry;

PowerFlite is right here in our back yard.

I am not a fan of their design (serviced quite a few).

Mytee has a brand new 17" 1.5HP floor machine with an innovative handle lock.
http://mikeysboard.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28694

John says it will be $699, but I think it is a quality design.

Right now we carry the NSS floor machine, but we think the Mytee is a very good design also.

Hey Larry you should entertain the idea of a dual speed for padcapping.

I like 300 RPM Hi-Speed for encapping.

Dual-speed is a great idea, but the machine cost is higher.
