im realizing im going to need to offer some level of carpet services to fill out my schedule. i want a portable extractor system that can cover the common services requested that can be done with a machine thst fits in the back of an suv. trying to keep the budget around $3-4k for the machine, plus a 2-3k for accessories and chemicals. any suggestions on where to start looking and what at? i have a low speed and bonnets, but much of what i read lately seems to say bonnets are going out of fashion due to wear and tear on the carpet. point me in a direction please and thank you!

PEX 500 is in that range. Makes a good traveling porty. Quite too. Bonnets are not out of style. There’s so many different kinds. Fiber pads would be a good thing for agitation. Pads, bonnets, 175, and a good porty is a good start.

I wouldn't turn my nose up at a Mytee. They make one machine with a General pump that gives good flow up to 1000 psi and way longer life than the pumptec or Cat high pressure portables. You can add accessories as you see fit from auto fill/dump to external heaters. Be aware that most Mytee machines need 20 amp circuits or you're going to have to ad a cord.
