Hi Lisa, How is the Spokane area treating you? I lived in that area for a few years, worked at a couple of carpet cleaning companies there. You know Wade at Spot Tech?

This "discrimination" crap only comes from those that don't have to have their company and their name on the line. Why would any company owner be forced to hire some one they don't like???

This whole idea of discrimination is what is ruining this nation. Let's be clear: I would hire a person who I want to represent my company. It maybe a clean shaven clean cut hispanic type but it could be a black guy or a white guy. Doesn't matter but just because a company owner doesn't like some one now you can sue that company owner for discrimination?

I don't have tattoos and will never have one. No I'm not afraid of the needels at all. I just don't think tattoos are nice.

Spokane is Spokane-Just like Anywhere, U.S.A..... i don't know of Wade....But i know Eric at FMS , Rick at Walter Nelson and just bought alot of nifty stuff from Jon Don. We just added a Cimex to our arsenal-we should be getting it next week. You guys are so lucky that you get to go OTHER PLACES......... Not much changes in the Casino- Ivebeensold. I agree with you guys-and my company policy is that tattoos be covered. But i cannot stop anyone on my crew from getting one-And then what do you do??????? Fire them????? After youve trained them and outfitted them with uniforms and such???

my employee has to be clean shaven, a clean haircut and have his shirt tucked in. I've sent him home before to clean up. A clean image is everything to me and I certainly believe to most of my custys.

OMG!!!! NEWBIE????  I have been around since before the "Green Gurl" scandal.... How could you? Could it be considered discrimination to NOT hire people with tattoos that cannot be covered? By the way Chavez-Good looking crew-and rigs.

to answer your question according to my attorney. If the tattoos can be covered up - you cannot use it as a reason for not hiring. If they are unwilling or unable to cover them up- it can be used.

Yes, I'm sure it would/could be considered harassment.

don't have any tats, don't plan to
some are tastefully done, some I see and shake my head
my daughter has a tat, right shoulder blade, tasteful
Would I hire someone? It would have to be tasteful such that someone could see it and not be offended by it, or it would have to be covered.
If I don't want to hire someone, I don't have to give a reason. Sorry, you're just not the person I'm looking for.
Its my busn and I have to be able to work with the person and they are representing my busn in a residential environment, not middle of the night janitorial where no one sees you. Pull your pants up, tuck your shirt in, shave that scruff off your face unless you have a chit for a beard, look presentable.

adam, is a clean looking guy, I would trust him in my house. he also doesn't like tattoos either. what does that say. when I go to my suppliers I see some of the skankiest people that are in my profession I often wonder how in the world they get work at all. cut off jeans, wife beater t shirt, pony tail. I don't want a guy that looks like he is in the hells angles in my house. alot of people focus on the type of equipment they use, when it would be smart to focus on their hygeine and appearance first.
