Text Scam

I'm receiving a text:


"This is Anthony Smith. I am hearing impaired. I have 15 backing synthetic rugs in size 2500 square feet, can i have prices for each square... do you accept credit card.........

"My shipper will deliver the rug to your store, once you finish clean the rug it will come again for pickup. can i have prices...................."




Does anybody want to jump on it ?

Is this a crime if they are trying to get me to pay shipping or whatever (lol) ?

I still have it on the line coming from 215-876-8915.

Phone number is cloned. Fake.
This same scam has many versions. Anything requiring shipping or western union is a scam.

Scams like this cam also include PayPal.

Google the number. It is often an honest biz.

List something for sake on cl. Like a car. And in a day or 2 you'll have a buyer from our of state wanting to buy it.

When I texted it back, it returned to me.

had this happen a year or two ago, exactly the same. nothing ever came of it.

i did have a hearing impaired customer that i eventually cleaned for though who used a service to contact me.
