Now you're just making me mad. You're so busy with everything else in life, I'm starting to think you're needing an excuse to get away from the wife.
The urethane finish makes it easy to clean. Doesn’t hold dust and debris like plain unfinished wood. Perfect for cleaning upholstery.

I'm just wondering why someone would waste so much time on a shop table. Total waste

It's a table, IN YOUR SHOP. Who cares if dust gets on it.

Please explain. I'm willing to argue on this one

My workbench in my garage is constructed in similar fashion. My goal was to make it look like an Outback Steakhouse table. I love the deep rich look of stained wood with a glass-like finish. My bench has held up great through the years. Also, by making it myself I was able to make it to a custom height for an optimal work experience. I like my bench 43” high. My EDIC Porty fits perfectly under it. Go try and buy one off the shelf like that.

Ok You must live in that area that has 30hrs a day instead of just 24. In that case, have fun

I don't see a porty under there.

That costs more than my entire bench.

oh....
you bought two new bikes
then spend a bundle on custom accessories you didn't need
Bought a new engine for a boat you haven't put in the water
and bought a '76 El Camino to use as a storage platform in your garage
and looking for a '79 Trans Am

but you want to cheap out on a bench you'll be cleaning upl on .
Over $170 bukz....

counter top laminate is fiddy bukz a 4 x 8 sheet
quart of Wellwood contact glue is 10bukz

but I think the 1/2" nylon stuff is best
Know why?
it doesn't have to be glued down and is removable

If you have to rebuild a pump, sprayer or carb, you use the plywood bench top.
Slide the clean as a whistle nylon on top for upl cleaning or other work when/where a pristine top is wanted
