not exactly it's get written off as a expense to the giver for the so called prize. you cant deduct any thing from that piece of equipment. Some times it better to just buy something than win it.

say you win a 3200 dollar prize or multiple prizes there is no free lunch

lets just say that 3200 dollars if a 1099 is issued just happens to bring you into the next tax bracket it could cost you in taxes more than the prize is worth

just say you get a little help from the gov with your health care now that money full retail gets added to your gross income that then could eliminate you from you help with your obameacare.

could end up costing you thousands,

I am asking a straight up question

will the winner of a prize over 599 dollars will be sent a 1099 for the full retail value of the prize.

Based on last years raffle( maybe this years will be different) there was not tax or forms to file or fill out.

Relax this is not the Opraw hinfrey show.

Let's not ruin a good thing here guys, the manufacturers are just showing support and giving their appreciation for doing biz with them.

I tell you what Terje, since I couldn't possibly be in a higher tax bracket, you can give me your prize and I'll buy you six pack of Clamoto cocktails and a handful of stoggies.

Good grief Brevik, you're a regular Debby's Downer

So what if you get bumped up a bracket, say you won the $3000 HOSS , if it raised your tax liability a few points it would only be on the portion that went above the lower tax rate amount. It's a tiered tax structure.

Great prizes btw, amazing you have this much action and it's still over two months away

What I meant with written off was the fact that if you somehow have to show that as income, you will find the same amount as expense on the same trip. Just buying some goodies from the vendors there and you will also have depreciation...

Are these going to be handed out at the time you win and you have to deal with getting it back?

Are these going to be certificates and you can call the plant and set up shipping?

Can the manufactures ship?

Could be a problem if you fly in.

I will be staying till the end for that type of bounty.

I got a pretty wife maybe thats what I needed to bring last year.

If you make it must be present to win the SPCA is going to lose out on thousands of dollars. I know I will be several hundred in tickets but there is 0 chance I will be there when the drawing is held. My pups test is way to important to even chance missing. He only gets one chance at this test and there wont be another one to take him to before he is past time/age limit

There will be 200 tickets that can be won live at the event by competing in contests or given away at the discretion of the vendors for people who they feel went above and beyond in trying out their equipment or services.

The SPCA will be there to sell as many tickets as you'd like to buy. (price to be determined)

You must be present to win

Each prize will have it's own container to drop tickets into so you can pick what you want to try and win.
