I have one. I like it. I dont use a dump tank filter, I use ladies panties hose over the main filter to the blower. I think you can get them new from jon don for $70-80 bucks new. To each his own.....

They do need modifying. As sold they are junk and totaly disrupt air flow. I made a better one from pvc pipe and the steel filter. What the hell is wrong with these manufacturers?

They're just a swimming pool filter that someone decided would work as a lint filter. There isn't a market for an improved for carpet cleaners version. Studebaker made a better filter, but it cost more and was bulkier, so carpet cleaners didn't want it.

Is it worth having? My opinion is- yes. It keeps the junk out of the waste tank, so that does not need cleaned out as often.

Empty the filter after every job- and sometimes during a job.

Cleaning the waste tank is a lot easier when you have to.

are they worth having??

I think so.
we won't run without one.
It keeps carpet lint and chunks out of the waste tank

Use the shortest piece of hose possible from TM vac port to filter for best air flow.

I want that crap IN my waste tank, just not thru the blower.

3" dump valve to help it completely empty.

I love you, Lee, but I don't want all that lint in my tank.
I don't like piles of lint where i dump, and I SURE ain't going to strain that carpet nector coming out.

You should see my corn. Put the pantyhose "filter" over the end of the dump hose if you'd like. I don't want it for a minute blocking the airflow thru the system.

Where do I get one of those?

Maybe this could be considered one.

we have them, 2.5" modified from Greenie

city of Portland says you must filter your waste water before it goes down the sewer

I don't use the screen, have a sock and run the nylon in the sock

Call Greenie, Brian.
he has the modified filters.
He'll also make sure you have what ever else you need to make it compatable with "your" particular TM.

The modified filter makes a difference.
It's what we've been using for the last 6 months or more
