Jobs that is.

Had 4 booked for Monday. Only did 3.

Had 3 booked for today only did 2.

Had 3 booked for wed. Hanging on to one right now.

My area has been getting hammered with snow.

All lost or rebooked jobs were of the clients choice. Either vacant and they don't want to venture out or they are stuck at home with kids as we have not had school this week yet and school is already cancled for tomorrow.

I've got over a foot of snow on the ground here. 4 of it new today. And 5-10 coming tonight though tomorrow.

Nice heavy wet slick snow.

Van is chained up, and did fine today. My neighborhood , street, and driveway being the biggest reason for the chains.

All turning to rain Thursday.

My sales as of last Friday matched all of jan 2011 but this storm is really biting into adding on.

I figured you wouldn't work much. Do you really like working in this weather?? Not me, I'll stay home and wait for it to melt away. I hate driving the van in this, and risk damaging it, in anyway.

Typical weather for NE Ohio this time of the year, 'cept we haven't had but a few inches or so this year. I always carry a snow shovel in the van, cause lot's of custys don't have everything shoveled. Things are very slow here, except rentals, because most custys wait for the Spring.

Not really "normal " winter weather for your neck of the woods!!! We are located in Spokane-the other side of the mountains (from Becker)-and amazingly enough-we managed to dodge the storm yesterday.  But i don't think we are going to get as lucky today.

I know Spokane well. I have a small operation there and a house in greenacres. I'm there most weekends. Not a normal winter there at all. Not only no snow. But warm temps.

You all should be getting some snow over the next couple of days. But in most cases school won't close. People won't panic. Lol.

It was nice to have the roads all to myself on my way to my only job for the day. Client was grateful I made it as they had booked the cleaning over a week ago and planned a day off..

The farthest I've ventured is to the end of the driveway with a shovel.

It would be just another day in other parts of Canada however my town is stopped dead from the exceptionally cold and snowy weather. Nothing a guy can do about it other than enjoy the time off. I'm smiling and thinking about my upcoming dive trip to Cozumel.

I see I've upset you. Please accept my deepest apologies. You're a brave and wonderful soul Donald and a credit to this profession.
You do realize I was pulling your chain a little.

I remember years ago when I was in a tight spot, you were one of the people that reached out with a helping hand. I still appreciate that.

CARRY ON!

Our techs would go out if we'd let them, but the danger of being hit by some other joker is too great. Hilly terrain, wet snow on top of ice, and people that think four-wheel drive will help them stop...

We used to install studded tires, chain up and charge ahead, but being hit and having trucks spend weeks in the body shop made rescheduling for a couple of days seem like a better idea.

Exactly - it's not worth being on the road unless it is absolutely necessary. I was raised on the prairies and as a part time job when I was in university used to drive big Provost buses on ski bus charters up into the mountains . I know how to drive - but the other people on the road often don't.

my jobs have rescheduled for fri-sat,,, empty rentals! been driving my wife to work,,and picking her up,,,love how some idiots have to drive down the CENTER of the damn road! i agree also,,its best not to take a chance out there with the other idiots,,and have your van lost due to down time. plumbing outfit i worked for had us out working,,fully loaded with plumbing items,, had more window time then job time! hard to earn $ when your on commision that way!

Happened today, glad when the roads are bad I don't run errands in the van. I'd had felt better about it if it was snow related. Just dumb ass related.

I don't blame you for shutting down operations Bryan.. Hell, I'd cancel jobs in the urban areas, Seattle for sure. Way to much traffic and way to many hills.
