Ok, unlike many of you hot shots, I have a 89.95 min..

Anyways, I get this call from a lady early in the week. Asks about some areas to be cleaned, I quote her 89.95-$115 over the phone.

Get there, small house in a hood that does not represent my typical client. ( lol, reverse of yesterday.. 2 houses, smallest one 6000 sq ft.) This house was small, about 1200.. Not a lot of carpet. Mostly tile.

Anyways, from the phone call she said she was looking to hire me or rent a rug dr.
I gave her the phone quote and she said she would call back. ( heard that before )

So anyways she calls back next day ( tuesday ). And books.

Job was small, but would have priced out higher than my min..

I went to work, carpet was not dirty at all. In and out in no time at all.
It was friday, I was happy to be done with work by 1:pm ( 3rd job)

So I told her, I'd just charge her the 89.95 min.. She replied.. Check, Cash, Card? I said whatever is good for you.

She left the room and returned with 2 $100.00 bills. Said thank you for getting her in on the day she requested and doing a fantastic job.

Hmmm, OK, I'll take a 110.05 tip.. shiteatinggrin

Job was not much bigger than my 300 sq ft min..

Yeah then I dropped off 4 wheels with bald tires to be mounted with new rubber for my commuter car. Still got the studs on the car. Stopped off at a casino that gives players free food, and discounted drinks. Played holdem for 1.2 hrs ate lunch a couple of beers and cashed out $60 up..

It was a good friday..

Working a rare sat tomorrow.. That will include 107 chairs, and 400 sq ft of carpet.

I've only been in the business a very short time. I've learned my "hood" clients pay in cash and they tip. It's rare to get a tip from the higher end clients and they take longer to pay.

I raised my minimum price today - just waiting to see how it goes over with the regulars that have been used to paying the same price for the last few years.

Residential cleaning should always be paid at time of service Amy. Don't spend your time and effort invoicing customers except for commercial work and even those you can often get paid on the spot if estimated ahead of time and explained COD.

We're cleaning 4 houses today. Not one of them will be home and we've never cleaned for two of them. They either leave the door open or tell us where the key is. If they are home, we get paid at time of service. Is that a rural thing, or is that common in the urban area, too?

I just started caring a key to my house and I've lived there 9 years. I have no idea why I bother to carry the key, I never remember to lock the door. Today the AC guy is coming and I'm not there, he knows where the key is and he'll leave me a bill or bill me later.

Ahhh.......sounds like drug or numbers money. But it's still green. Bring on the Benjamins!!!!

(You know, the $100 bill is Ben Franklin, not a president, and the $10 bill is Alex Hamilton, not a president)

Make sure to report it as income on your taxes along with the 60.00 you won.

Uncle Sam (Obama) is watching this board.

Poker Track Pro....

App for my iphone, a buddy of mine created it and sells it.

You can export all data, tracks wins loses etc.. Per hr, per game, track friends, tokes, food bev, cash games and tournaments, yearly, all games..

It is a cool app, and he seems to update it nearly every week adding new things.

Gives tips, a summary of your play after each game.
