So I bought 300’ of the Cobbs thermoplastic hose.... let’s see how long this lasts... I usually only get around 6-8 months from Goodyear.

I’ll have to look at my CC statement, but I also had to pay UPS border fee. I’ll have to get back to you on the total.
Regarding the memory, I read on here, and also talked to a guy named Roger from Cobb, the first few times a guy uses it, it definitely sounds like it got some issues when coiling up. Which I was assured that would go away.

I don't have any issues with the Goodyear hose except that it may leave a welt in the carpet if you have too much heat. The thermoplastic seems to be better insulated. More heat to your jets, less heat radiating from the hose. At least, that's what I've been told.

I run 225’ on my live reel. I have typical residential hose runs 100-200’.... commercial is between 150’,-450’.
IDK, but I go through solution hose quick..
I don’t abuse it, I just work....
Matter of fact, I Clean, them every week. I coat them with Aerospace 303 every month or so...
Vac hose is fine, solution is shot. I bought it last August. I’ve had to have it re ended on the reel side twice, and it’s getting hard, and greying out.....

I bought some Neptune today. Odd sizes, 64,58, etc. I asked what they were going for and the kid says 45.00 each. I bought them all. I'v been using hydraforce for my lead and really like it. These I may keep outside.

When you are using live reels the hoses are being cooked. The heat has no where to go.

You aren't kidding. My new TM came with 150' of Continental on a live reel and after only 13 months it's cooked. It looks like it's 10 years old and already has a pinhole. When I was just hanging the hose on a hanger in my van I was getting 3 or 4 years out of solution hose.

Always good to cool down your hoses before Shutting off the TM.

I saw a different kind of hose last week. Suttner America. Has anyone heard of those hoses? They're skinnier than the goodyear/continental, and they're SS braided. I'm just looking to replace my crappy continental this time next year, and I"m gonna buy some more OEM and I'll get about 100' of SS braided to hook up to the tm.

Especially if you're the type to take the hose in the house and walk it out, which you should be.

The cobb hose(blue) has virtually no memory. It's also lighter than parker hose.

I'd highly recommend those using thermoplastic to use a 50' of steel braid off the truck or you will cook the hose.

The only thing I don't like about this newer hose is that it is sticky. Doesn't slide well over itself and I notice a little more drag on the carpet. Not a big deal.

It does grab corners more than I like. I’m considering getting a very high grit sandpaper on it to see if that would help.

I would stop using aerospace 303 on them. I just use a damp rag every time I roll them up on the live real.

is that how your guys do it on the aero tech? I cant stand figure 8ing and walking it back outside.

Any extra hose I have, I use the over under technique for coiling. Then, when I need it, I set it on the floor, grab the lead end, and just walk it out. It uncoils itself...
I think I’m going to run 50’ or so of Goodyear on the reel, and hand coil the thermoplastic, and hang it in the back of the truck.
The 100’ for everyday, and reserve the 200’ for big commercial.
It would be nice to get at least 18 months, to 2 years out of it.
I’ve got a large restaurant on Sunday night I’m going to try it out on.

Unless you pull it all off the reel, it just cooks it. At least it does with any hot running unit.
