the Prochem Apex is on its way out. I heard that the Apex will be under the SS name now (see Sunbelt catalog) in a month or so. Not sure what motor or changes they made, but to me its a new machine and since Im looking to get a new one, Im not going to be a Guinea pig on a new model
Feel free to call me regarding the 2018 Apex/570. Essentially it's the same meat and potatoes of the original 570 with an aesthetics upgrade. The frame is now powder coated aluminum.

yep, that's the one. PRRRRRETY machine but still a new model. that and the fact that SS doesn't have the greatest track record/history

Ill stick with a new Hydramaster Titan 575
I think Sapphire has a great "track record/history". The people who pioneered the Prochem 405 (I still have 2) now make the very durable unit under both labels.

Sometimes I think my son's SS870 is overkill, but this week it has been overkilling it running dual at Murray State.
