checked the van a bit ago (in unheated drafty pole barn) ...my electric heater went off sometime yesterday evening

got down to 13 last night
got some ice/slush in the emulsion tank.
wand/tool valves are frozen stiff

don't know if any serious damage has occurred or not.
I'll check later or tomorrow after everything has thoroughly thawed

if i get away with just a couple tool valves popped, I'll be more than happy

what a way to start the New Year

Does not take much to freeze up tools. I had them freeze up from sitting next to a open door before. You might be ok. Thaw it out and let us know.

That sucks. The one time I had a close call I put a salamander in the box for about 2 hours vented. It got up to around 100 degrees and I was lucky and was fortunate there were only minor damages. Went to moniters after that and like Lee said I get up 2-3 times a night to pee

My Grandaddy had a "pee bucket" that he used at night. One time when I was a kid, I shot a couple of shot gun pellets in it and nobody knew it until the next morning.

Good luck. Just came home from setting up trucks for a cold night. Walk in and Nancy (my wife) tells me the furnace is out.

Oh shit! I used to have a house on a hill and when it was really windy the air would back down the vent and blow out the pilot flame. Waking up to a freezing cold house was a regular thing in the winter. Fortunately it would light easily and we were back warm in minutes.

Hopefully its just a thermal couple or something cheap.

Here's a tip for you I developed years ago. May or may not work for you: Hook a battery backup to the extension cord. If you put the backup next to the house or inside (cord through a window) it will audibly alert you if power has been tripped. It's rare the heater goes out but rather the circuit breaker is what has popped.
We also use lighted entension cords. We can see them through the security cameras to ensure it's still going. put a $40 camera tied into your wifi in your garage and you can easily review it without walking to your truck. just put he cord outside the truck...
Hope this helps.

looks like a dodged a bullet..

TM seems fine, heater good, no troubles with the wands.
One of the in-line sprayers has a leaky QD and solution is going into jug when trigger is off.
Main sprayer is good.
Didn't check all the hand tools, but visual looks good

no carpets til Tuesday, and it's an empty house, so we'll see ....

Not to bring you down but I've had the freeze damage show up much later. I had two units that were out extracting all day in single digit weather and later had issues. The metal was fatigued but held together until we got some hours of use put on it.

Yours didn't sound like it got that cold, so hopefully you don't experience that.

Hopefully if they do happen, they'll be small/minor like fittings and hoses .and NOT heater coils :eekk:...that one would be biggest PITA..the pump is easy to get to, the burner's a bioch

My hats off you you guys in colder climates. I'll stop whining about it being 44 degrees here in SF.
