It was the vaccuum pump stuck. Had to manually turn on during the night, new part today. Good to go.

I coughed up my coffee when I first saw your post. I blew a heat exchanger 3 years ago due to a hard freeze. Been running a 1300 watt heater since, on freeze nights. I buy a new $25 milk barn heater every year, give the old one away to friends.

Getting down to 5º this coming Wednesday.

We have 2 TM's parked outside at our shop.

When the temp is going to be in the mid to high 30's, I put a heater in each van, each one on the lower setting. When the temp is going to drop below 30º, I turn the heaters on the high setting.

When it's going to drop below 20º, I add a second heater to each van in the rear, and set them on the lower setting, with the inital heater still on the high setting.

Anything below 0º, gets both heaters on the high setting.

This has worked even when it reached -20º with no wind chill.

ya but....his milk would spoil.

it's 17 degrees ...i could of moved the fridge outside..

Power came back on at 10:20....and i went to bEd

if it would of been much longer, I'd of had to get the kero convection heaters going ...one for the house, one for the van.

My house is all electric Bob, I'd kill a 7500kw gen trying to run that load
Got a 6200kw I've used when elect is out for more than a couple/few hours (18 hours is the longest in the 30 years I've been here)
I flip the breakers off on the heat and hot water tank, and just run the essentials like well pump, fridge, putter/TV etc.
Heat with kero convection if cold

Ice storm 6-8 years ago caused havoc in much of the state ..we were lucky to be out for only 18 hours, my guy Shane who lives just 6 miles away was out of power for 2 days, and just 6 miles west of him was out for 3 days :eekk:

i hate winter.....

I remember when I lived in MN...there were a few times in the winters when you would of been at least 60 degrees warmer living in your own freezer.....

and that is why I now live in the desert.................

Jim.....HOW do you control a frickin' rattlesnake?

leave them alone and they will go away..they want nothing to do with you....the only time they bite you is if you are messing with them..

your chance of finding a rattle snake are very slim....

I got a handful of snake pictures that I have taken over the years and that one is probably one of the best ones I got...
he was not threatened or intimidated by me...he just moved out of my way and went to another bush and just stayed there the whole time...
