I bit the bullet and bought a 2okw Generac generator in August. I figured t would be no big deal to get it set up, especially since my master electrician buddy said he would hook up the electrical for me...

Lots of complications from location to place it, to gas meter size, routing of gas line, routing of electric cabling, etc. Every time we have a storm I pray the power doesn't go out. My wife will not be happy..

Yep, transfer switch too. We live in a pretty out of the way place and the neighbors all say when the power does go out, it goes out for days at at a time.

I had my house wired for easy hook up should I ever need a generator. Fortunately I haven't needed it in the 7-years we've lived out here.
