Or are we talking Ultra Seal....

I was responding in reference to Ultra Guard. Seems like there could be some confusion in thinking they are one and the same.
Ultra-Guard, MicroSeal and the like are ones that typically come with a "territory" . You need to be a distributor to apply the product and you have to pay fees/buy in to the company to do so. In exchange, they don't allow anyone else in your territory offer it. They are exclusive to the territory owner.
I'd be wary of Ultra Guard contacting you. Why is the territory open? Has it been for a while? Was the last guy not successful and gave it up, or did they take it back from him for not meeting sales quota? Not to say you couldn't be successful with it, but if it was doing well in your area, someone wouldn't give it up. But like anything else, if the person who had the area wasn't working it, then it won't be successful.
This is the one that is in my neck of the woods...similar concept

Here is their info on open territories....

"permanent"ish....?
I'm not a fan of using the word permanent for these types of protectors, however it is how "they" refer to them, which is why I used that word. The certainly offer more permanency than scotchgard or maxium which will come off with wear and cleaning. And depending on the "life" of the carpet or upholstery piece, it will withstand many cleanings, so could be "permanent" to that piece/fiber if it's cleaned once a year or less frequently.
I know there is a market for these kinds of protectors. Lots of $ to be made with them and then servicing the clients after it's been applied.
