Home owner claims her tiles were made by her dad's company based out of California

No website with any info found (Fred?) but hubby claims they have stripped and resealed them with an acrylic topical many times over the years.

Looking at the floor, and seeing how delicate the tiles feel (scrape real easy) I am a bit worried about heat and pressure being used.

Do you think the topical yellowed over the years?

Area in kitchen where they recently stripped a few tiles themselves and gave up..

Oh man ... that looks like a disaster waiting to happen. If does look to me like it has yellowed. I had a brick floor like that years ago that required meuratic acid and a wire brush to strip it. However, a wire brush will harm that floor, right? And who wants to be on their hands and knees?

What is your plan?

I went buy to look at it in my pickem truck..

I'll go back with some stripper and 175 to see if it comes off nice and easy. They think it will. I'm afraid the whole damn tile will disintegrate, it feels like old fruit cake...lol
I hope they don't expect the baseboards to get stripped.

Test that Fiasco out. Then have them sign a waiver of the restoration attempt. I would have to be facing foreclosure to do that job. LOL

I asked for 4.50 a foot to mask 200 linear feet of walls and to sit and breath stripper all day...

Mikey;

Depending on the acrylic coating used . . .

you might have to use a solvent-based Seal Remover to strip the coating.

Try a paint remover if you can still get a solvent-based one in Calif. :hopeless:
