Well im getting my setup cleaned up and renewed some. Bought it about a year ago and finally getting time to do some much needed maintenance. Setup is a 09 ford van with a blueline thermalwave vortec 2. Here are some pice as I go along. It's not a major overhaul or anything just some decent refreshing and going through some much needed odds and ends. Thanks to @BIG WOOD for the motivation lol he's been telling me I need to get things done. Pulled out the old plywood floor and rerouting my filter box and all. Also doing some touch up paint on hose reels and such plus some general inspections of condition of floor under plywood. Hit me with all the thoughts and hate lol 🤣 20230808_170755.jpg 20230808_170747.jpg 20230807_172201.jpg 20230807_170813.jpg 20230817_190438.jpg 20230817_190436.jpg 20230807_185042.jpg 20230807_190259.jpg

what do you need insulation for?
Well makes for a better experience running a space heater also I fear removing the wood removes the air gap and will cause issues keeping it warm in winter. I'm in NC so it doenst get much colder than high teens maybe low 20s for short bursts. The wood in there is 1inch thick plywood.... also it makes it nice for mounting stuff to walls if ever need be.

I don't smoke. Nope, all good. Please tell me you aren't using a propane burner.
No smoking or propane either but still gets pretty hot in there on a summer day but I guess it would need to be well into the 300 plus range for the wood to light up. Was just curious If that was an issue and what other materials guys have used maybe like the diamond plating to dress it up?

So I got the easy part mostly done which is removing all the old floor boards. Walls aren't terrible so I haven't decided if I'll remove them or just slap a new coat of paint on them. I can tell this one was definitely put together at the factory bc everything is done right for atleast 15 year ago standards. I'd love to get my hands on some composite hdpe plywood but im not up in Cali where they have all the nice stuff like some of you fancy boys 🙄

Yea its nice to make money don't get me wrong but I do enjoy having a decent looking reliable setup as well. Right now my setup looks like a boot leg bait and switch operation lol. It'll be nice when I'm done and since I'm doing everything myself I'm able to put the extra money into making it look nice with the savings on labor.

I think the welder did an awesome job. He even put a coat of flat black on the pipe work and side cover! I ended up pulling all the plywood out of the van and to my suprise there's not even surface rust on the side walls. Also they had it professionally rhino lined before installed paneling! Only a few rust spots behind rear wheel bc of not having mud flaps but all in all in excellent shape. I'll be redoing all the paneling and adding foam board for insulation
