Cooked my check valves when the pressure thermostat/ pressure relief failed..

sitting at 280 for an hour or more will do that to an air cooled unit

Tom Conway and I think Jim Martin noticed the HOSS sitting flush on the carpet for far too long

gee thanks Studebaker...lol

easy access on the 370 though..

I was getting 300 psi drop.

which goes unnoticed under the RV due to that it cleans fine at 100psi...lol

No wonder that carpet the other day dried in 45 minutes :shifty::shifty:

How many hours was it constantly operating under load?
Curious if that would have cooked a water cooled machine as well.

I can't answer that..wasn't paying attention. But without water flowing even the 370 gets to 280°, and stays there.
Getting to 280 on a little truck mount doesn't seem very good. Either it's working too hard, or it's not maintaining the heat it should be providing.

had to clean the last room and rinse a vct job with my pressure hose fitted to the outside faucet..

SSG rinses real well.

Get a spare set of seals for your parts box as they are super easy to change out on a job.
If the checks were fried the seals needed to be changed at the same time.
Had a guy here a week ago with the same problem. Not a 370 but his thermostat failed also.

So correct me if I am wrong, if you want to use your sapphire for water extraction, you should hook up your water supply and run the pump on some type of open hose to avoid over heating

My 370 heated up to 280+ with the clutch / pump off while doing a water extraction in the summer. It was 100 degrees out. I ended up hooking up water and opening up the manual bypass valve to cool it down. My BIMBA was in the no heat position also. I still love the machine though. It has been great so far 900 hours. I finally turned it back down to 14 HG and the temp seems to have dropped a little but the temp outside also has been lower. The vacuum is excellent. Once the machine is warmed up it will hold 195 with the HF wide open at 400 psi. 7.5 flow wand it can drop down to 175 but it heats back up quickly.

the 370 is partial bypass. The older White Magic was full bypass; you could run full vacuum and just shut off the pump/clutch. The thermal relief valve on the lower back of the water box starts bypassing around 160(ish) to protect the pump. Did that not happen?
