Was Powerwashing The Van And Car In the Driveway

And I had two drive-bys stop and ask if I could rinse their cars off. Made a quick $40 for 15 minutes of spraying. Some may recognize NE Ohio as the "SALT ON THE ROADS" capital of the midwest. ALL cars are white....covered in salt spray. Any type of rinse improves them by 100%.

Now to dodge the 6" deep potholes.....

Oh....and the State of Ohio has this great new idea whereas they pre-treat the roads with a brine/beet juice mixture before it snows. Man, it's real fun to get behind one of those tankers. It actually does keep ice from forming on the road surface if it doesn't get too cold.

My caddy come from Cleveland. it has a couple of pimples here and there, but you need to know what to look for. The brite work around the tail light lenses are pitted and the worst spot is Rt lower corner of the rear license plate.

Still a good lookin comfortable ride that gets an avg 25 mpg and the price was right when I got her off ebay

You just gave me a great idea. Wish I had a truckmount. Coming soon though.

Couple of questions for ya though

1) How much water per car?

2) What PSI do ya wash your van at?

Robert- Do you use your normal pressure hose when pressure washing or something larger.

I just washed the salt off my 3 vans and 2 cars in my driveway yesterday with the truckmount. Then I powerwashed my driveway. Our County is using a salt / sand mix that gets tracked everywhere! I just crank the psi up to 1000 and use a pressure washing wand. I use the same hose, just clean the hose as you are spooling it.

58 deg. in Chicago yesterday, I smell spring in the air!

1) Danny....it's hard to determine how much water I used. i'd say maybe 20 gallons or so. I don't run a fresh water tank, so I can't measure it. I'm not even sure of the flow per minute......it's huge.

2) I crank it up to about 1200 PSI, but the wand has a t-jet on it, and a wide spray, so I get a lot of flow over a wide area.

When I have the time, I will use a soft car wash brush after wetting the van down, to loosen the film on the van, then finish off with another rinse.

If you have an area to do this, you'll have cars lined up around the block. A car lift would be perfect, because you could rinse the underbody, and charge even more. You gotta remind the customers that it ain't no detail cleaning, just a high pressure rinse. I think the local do-it-yourself car washes are set at a higher pressure, and a more intense spray pattern.

Oh....as for the hose, I just use an older hose that I don't bring into houses anymore. It's a Neptune and will take the pressure.
