Any reason I can't do wax removal with my portable and Mikey's Hard Surface wand? Other than wax in the waste tank, what's to worry?

Should work fine except for the wax build up in the tank and hoses. I have an old portable that I use for that. I clean out the tank and hoses with stripper. I don't know if I would want to do it with a nice machine.

You can do it, but I’m not sure why you want to unless you’re broke. A 12 gallon Rigid wet vac will do the same thing and is built for that type of work. With the foam wet filter, you’re golden. $129-150.

I'm always broke, and I actually already have a couple of those shop vacs and they are a pain in the ass to dump, when you run them till they are full water poors out the hose when you unhook it and then it spills out the vac port. The hose get twisted and when you try to untwist it the machine sometimes tips over.
With my portable I can run 25 - 50' of hose, it's easy to drain, and I can use a decent wand.

It comes as no surprise, wax can be dealt with in 2 ways.
Either with chemicals, or heat…
Both are effective, both are a PITA to clean out of a portable.
I prefer the speed of chemistry with a portable, but prefer heat when using a TM.

That’s crazy. They have a drain plug at the bottom of the machine that you just have to unscrew. They hold the same amount as a porty or more if you get the 16 gallon ones. Use defoamer, again you’re golden. You can hear it when it gets full just like a porty. I always use that with Kiavac 28” vacuum tool with a fifty foot 1 1/2 hose adapted.

Do you pick up slurry with your tm? But yes, and that’s why I use wet vacs unless I’m using an auto scrubber.

Coming from someone who does janitorial, I’m assuming you mean hard surface slurry from VCT CLEANING?
No, never.
We use a 6 gallon shop vac.
I try to keep my waste tank as free from ‘shmeg’ as possible..

This with a Rigid wet vac is the cats ass for stripping small floors. I wouldn’t even want to get a good Mikey floor tool in that. It will swivel to even get behind toilets beloit or not.
