What blower is really needed for single wand cleaning at 100'-150'?

But if I clean a room with both blowers and the dry times are about the same, and then I move onto the next room at the same time, then isn’t the job time the same? If the smaller blower is removing about the same amount of dirty water, laid down at the same psi, then how will the job time be different at 100’ of hose?
Stop over thinking it and just clean the carpet. The little bit of time and moisture that you are talking about is minute. The dry time and the moisture left behind is attributed more to the tech than understanding every minute detail about the physics involved.

I know, I just like the truth and like to know about stuff.
Most TMs can't hold 15hg with a wand on regular residential carpet, more like 9-12. Maybe on cgd carpet you can get that kinda lift.
That is why they can get away with a 20 hp motor running a 45 blower, and hp water pump cause most of the time the real load is only around 9 kg.
I know when I would clean cgd carpet with my legend it would do it but you could really hear the motor working very hard, my vac relief was cranked to 18hg. 90% of the time it never even came close to that.

It’s as plain as day @Matt Wood ,cleaners like @FDA have no issues with just enough. They do not mind being limited by their equipment. They justify themselves by thinking guys like us are foolish to buy larger truckmounts. They don’t care about the truth they just want somebody to agree with them.

I have no problem with someone telling me bigger is better for my use... I just want to know why... with no Trump'esque rhetoric. When you have half of "experts" telling you there's no difference at 100' and the other half telling you there is... it forms more questions.
I'll spend money on bigger if it makes sense.

@FDA read your lift gauge, mine is as follows
full throttle no hose pulling 2" (2" lost)
full throttle 100ft hose pulling 5" (5" lost) *this might be wrong, its been awhile since I checked
full throttle 100ft hose & wand 6" (6" lost)
leaving me 10" of useable lift of my 16" (I've had mine set at 18" for 250ft runs but damn does it run hot)
water extraction, cgd and some rugs are only times I get my vac relief opening
the bigger blowers can't move more air down 2" hose but they can transfer their useable lift further
What type of runner is best? A sprinter or long distance? Depends on the race, but over 150ft I'd back the sprinter

Since you're considering spending over $20k on a bigger tm...have you thought about investing in a hotel room traveling to someone who has a 570 or everest and just working with them on a full day of jobs? Get the true feel of how the machine operates. You'll probably get paid for helping too, so that'll help pay for the trip. If you don't like what you've experienced, you've only spend $150+ instead of $25k+
Lift isn't really lost. Your trying to remove atmospheric pressure so it really isn't lost

I meant more lost from my total of 16" but like you said most wands or truckmounts can't generate more than 9-12" on the carpet (my eyes aren't good enough to check while wanding
) but theres a reason why guys use 2.5" and buy your wands
more airflow which allows that lift to be transferred to the carpet not "lost" in the system

NO, it’s never going to be 100% factory/new clean.
But we try hard to get it as close as possible...
it’s a balancing act.
I feel a big part of that is extracting as much as I can, as fast as I can....

Do you generate RO onboard or at home then fill?
My softener has been out of the van for awhile, I'm sure its not my imagination that the feral jobs don't seem to rinse so easy without it
That must be why the steam action blower is water cooled and set to 20 hg...

I have a Light industrial system at my shop. It can produce 1880 gallons a day...
Of course I never need that much...
I carry anywhere from 125-175 gallons daily.

But at 100'-150' feet?
That's the thing... I know there are serious benefits with bigger blowers, but do those benefits really show up at 100'-150'? I've literally pulled 200' one time this year.

Because you know it's not a good idea. With my bane I would back up to bedroom windows to keep my hose run short.
Bigger machines will allow you to do bigger more difficult jobs that you may not have gone after. Buy what you can afford to invest in. The money won't be lost.
