What can cause the ball in a GPH chem meter to move up and down..?

turns out the brass tube that the adjustment knob goes into was cracked.


how the hell does that happen?, It's never been touched.

That's why you never ever use a brass flowmeter.
Every Steam Genie used an all-stainless steel equipped meter, and rarely suffered any problems. The first part to fail should be the clear polymer portion, not the plumbing.

I thought we had this conversation a couple of years ago, when you had another brass bodied flowmeter go belly-up in a relatively short time.
