Right? I was expecting something much heavier.

It's always there...especially in my mind...coming to the USA and not speaking a word of English as a 22 year old- will always make me second guess myself -while speaking.

Probably speak better english than most born in America people. Here, I find a lot of immigrants speak more proper english because they haven't learned the slang. I was born in Quebec but was english speaking rather than the majority french. On the street we spoke quebecoise french but in school, we learned parisian french. Completely different dialect and accent. Although my french is almost non-existant today, people from Quebec still recognize my accent.
