I maintain 6-8 acres and once or twice a summer clip the rest so it doesn't get out of hand. I like it under 4-inches in the pasture. Much more than that you get mice and rats and then snakes to eat them. If its cut down then the hawks see the mice and rats and they keep it pretty clear.You still have grass? All my Mexican neighbors have dirt in their yards from the kids playing soccer and family BBQ's all summer.
