So many times... calls back to us saying we were going to go with this company which was $99 for 5 rooms, but they showed up and it was $600 and we sent them away. When can we schedule with you?

Craziest time was this lady was calling around and getting quotes. After we explained why we were higher than the cheap dipshits out there, she said ok, lets book it. The day of the appointment, arriving at her home I get a call from her. "You guys were just here and you did a HORRIBLE JOB!" I said what? We are just arriving. Well, some company she called before and got a quote, kept her address and phone number and called every day to confirm an appointment with her. She thought it was us calling to confirm. This company showed up an hour early and soaked the shit out of her carpet. They had no name on their van, no uniforms, and called from a blocked number. She paid them cash! When we got in there and looked at it, stains left everywhere and the carpet was so soggy. There are some shady ass people out there.
I did that in reverse once. I was driving down a main road looking for the hundred block, then I was supposed to turn up 1 block. I got distracted and stopped at the right house number but the wrong street. I knocked on the door and explained that I was here to clean the carpets and was shown the areas that needed to be done. I finished the job, got paid and as I was wrapping up the truck, I realized that I was on the wrong street. As I was pulling out of the driveway to go to my real customer, Coit pulled in behind me. Boy did she ever get lucky.

Just because there are lower hanging fruit to pick.

There are people that recognize value and are smart enough to know it costs a little more than the coupon companies deliver.

But don't worry Dan has us go out and fix it. I'm just not happy about it.
Why does not penalising a prodical customer constitute make somebody a coupon company?

I'm no coupon player. My professionalism is free. Always.

We don't penalize either. Dan thinks they are potential clients.

I think they are grateful, but once fixed. However next time they will just call the next cheapie they hear about.

Not everyone is going to be your customer. I don't have a problem with that. Take excellent care of those that want you.

Fix those others that fit in your schedule, otherwise don't sweat it.

We have done that same thing a couple of times, at least that I know of. In both our cases though, there was no cleaning scheduled and the husband was home and assumed the wife had scheduled it and forgot to tell them. We only found out about it because the originally scheduled customer called wondering where we were. We contacted the crew and they swore they did the job. After a little back and forth, they discover they cleaned the wrong home.

2 days ago, I was close to cleaning the wrong house...they gave us the incorrect house number....yeah....that was weird....

The house number (their neighbors 2 doors down) also had their door open....

I went in and was looking at the work order....didn't seem right plus it really didn't look like they were ready for carpet cleaning.....and no carpet on a set of stairs we are supposed to clean going upstairs.....:confusedd::confusedd::confusedd::confusedd:

I spotted some mail on the counter top....different name! :eekk:

Exit house quickly!!!!:eekk::eekk:

Make a call to homeowner supposed to be cleaning....a "Whoops...sorry on the house number....go 2 more houses past them....front door unlocked." :dejection:

...and no house number on their home.....(Small town living) :marty:

Very similar situation..

Kids said mom's not home yet but you can come in and wait. It was scorching outside so I went for it.
Two episodes of Andy Griffith, a PBnJ, and a soda later, mom shows up saying who the F are you? We don't need our carpets cleaned!!!

That's why if it's vacant and the doors unlocked I'm knocking and talking going in the door.

No I don't change my price if they call back because a hack hacked.

Is this thread a big circle jerk on who can treat the customer the worst or penalize the customer for not picking them to clean originally? Sour grapes. Probably just a thread for old grumpy old to blow off steam...literally. Thanks Mark for changing the mood...

It may be attributed to erectile dysfunction. After all, it is sign of aging. However, I think the better explanation is group think...

It's true, a leopard can't change his spots, which is why you can always spot the leopard.
While your wisdom has enlightens us all, I feel the need to reciprocate.
