(like google adwords) ?

Not much if anything.

What % is from Organic?

Mostly organic or local listings

How many of you use some sort of (SEO)

You better be... Or you wont get found.

Do you do it yourself or do you pay someone?

Myself, if you learn how, it's a skill you will use the rest of your life.

up through the end of 2012 - less than 1 %...still paid the bills and kept us comfy enough.

this year might be 10%+ if SEO works.

if it get's really crazy, i see a double wide in my future.

Don't forget going to shopping centers at night and putting flyers into the shopping carts and flyers at Walmart on windshields can't be beat. I also put business cards on the Rug Doctor carts and I took the muffler off of my van to draw attention while I drive and it turns really heads and opens drapes of client's neighbors.

I was just thinking about this.

Want to go all electronic and completely ditch print, so expensive at our sizes. Working on a plan now.

I get aprox 1/3 of new business through my website and google maps. I don't show up on the first page of a general carpet cleaning search of my area, but I'm first on google maps - whatever the map is called on the top of Google's result page.

I made a free site through Quickbooks which included 1 free year of hosting and haven't done any SEO. I signed up for any free referral/review sites that I came across - like Yelp. I made a Facebook page and signed up for LinkedIn.

i am at the 1 year mark of having a site....and i am not the greatest at tracking like i should (on paper, its in my head though)

anyway through most of last year...april-nov it was generating an avg of about $500 a mth...not huge, but a starting point...some were commercial in there as well...

very little SEO in comparison, and had someone else do it...and did a great job...also helped out on the whole places issue...

over the winter it went all but dead...and now in spring it is back up...

had a few price shoppers that never called back...

over all been happy.....

now i just need to work on the stuff on my end...

I'm kinda waiting for Al Gore's next invention.

His new invention is the same as the rest. Exploit crises (Manufactured and other wise.) And reap the benefits $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ It's like those that live off of floods and other mayhem inflicted on others. "Cept the flood guys have to do real work.

For my carpet cleaning company about 80% comes from our website. 10% referrals and then 10% other advertising.

That's all? I don't believe in the internet. But, I would think you should be able to pull more than 50K in your sleep.

Not in Buffalo, we are balkanized ....

I have to cover 12-15 towns plus all the various keywords, about 1/2 of the way through right now but its a real pain over the short term.

Don't forget movie theater previews, that brought in a gazzillion for us. In fact I think that where most people decide on a cleaning professional, sitting there waiting for a movie. :pig:

I go to the movies just for the ads. I did get a internet job once. I think they mis-searched.

Psssst don't tell anyone but bus benches....they are the bomb!

I've heard of the internet but out here smoke signals are still popular and very effective. We use blue smoke for our company colors.
