To expand on Joe’s comment have them do a short article put it as a sticky in the rug room from Aaron, Ellen, Paul Lucas, Nathan Kotes, Lisa Wagner, and such.

It seems like the there’s these different factions in the rug world,...rug lovers Vs. rug masters that play out like a shitty kunf fu movie…

How deep? It depends where you are and how you intend to do it.

So my theory of involving a bass boat would work.
The Swedes would bring in their Ryas and tell us they had to be cleaned in seawater cuz that's the way they did it in the old country. I'd point to the owner's boat in the parking lot. Tourists would bring Flokatis back from Greece and tell us they needed to be cleaned in a waterfall. I never explained again after i found "We got one" worked every time.
