First van was a 1966 Chevrolet bought in 1970. Fixed it up inside. Had a ramp to pull that heavy steam machine into the truck. Never could fix the oil leak.

They're 1/2 tons. It would take a lot of maintenance to keep brakes and suspension bits under it if it carried a load all day. If it were a red Ford Econoline, it would be my first van, with a tag line, "Built to catch fire or leave you stranded" or sometimes both.

I rhink ir is more the issue of getting the motor out of between the driver and the passenger seat and driver comfort. The Tesla van will be out in the next year or two and will not have the motor space issue. I wonder what the front of it will look like. The Asian box trucks have basically a flat nose and get pretty good mileage
