Whats the oldest carpet you have cleaned???

Mine was today I believe.....50-55 yrs

Guy was the son-in-law, been in the family for 45 or so years...the dad had died, and a nephew was going to rent then buy the place...

He was guessing it had been down 5- 10 years before he came around......aside from some waves in the carpet(which i am sure stretching would tear it) and the fact the pad was flat worn out in some areas....the fiber of the carpet its self....

looked better then a lot of 5 year old carpets....

Wall to wall only or area rugs too? I have cleaned a bunch that were much older than 40-50 years old.. the most recent I can think of was about 150-160 years old 10x14.

I clean wtw wool every year that was installed in 1963. Very little wear.

Have cleaned older rugs.

Pretty darn good clean job on that old of carpet. I've cleaned a 40 to 50 year old carpets. They definitely don't make them like they used to.

32 year 0ld shag. It cleaned up like a charm and looked great. I was amazed.

I've cleaned carpet from the 20 or 30s a few times. It's always wool in 3 foot strips that are sewn together the make it room sized. Usually it will have several places that are worn to the backing. Then I'll get a 2 year old plastic carpet that is hard, flat, grayed out and ready to be replaced.

I do a lake house with wtw wool that is about 70 years old.

We did a 40 yr old shag that was w2w. We did an area rug that was close to 70 years old The woman we did it for G mom wove it
