Those of you that have it broken down better, distinguish between per custy costs from:

- Print
- Web
- Direct mail
- Radio
- TV
- Referral
- Getting repeats back

Those of you that don't, the blended number.

And what are you doing to lower it?

One of the few people I know who truly tracks this stuff accurately is John Mapes with Ecosteam and he calculates the average residential customer costs him around 85.00 in TRUE "acquisition costs". So obviously if you don't convert this job into a long term client relationship you are in trouble.

Steve

PS maybe Tom King will be along to help us out here.

John Mapes is the My Carpet Warranty guy right Steve?

Did anybody ever stick with that long enough to see a decent return?

I still have retailers referring us and us only but the numbers went from 50 to 80 jobs a year per retailer down to less than 10 when the Googleman stepped in in 08

Do they let you mail/email to their client list?

He has quite a few cleaners listed on his website last time I looked. I've never spoke to any of them but the list looks impressive.
