Which swivels are best for live pressure reels?

For a traditional reel, I would never run my hose live.

I have been on the same hose (interlink brand which has the best little bend restrictors I have found) for three years and no problems. I did have about 4 inches cut off the end of one and crimped about two weeks ago but that's it. We clean 6-7 days per week (tile, pressure wash, and lots of carpet).

When I ran live even on a warm machine my hose never lasted. With the heat we run through our hose, it would be fried in three months if we ran it live.

Now I go through a dozen or more quick connects every 6 months. They don't last at all.

Super Swivel is the standard for a reason.

Get the zerk installed and keep it greased and it should last you quite a while.

Wintrax....cost...27.20
Rebuild kit..$10.05....(Pair of snap ring pliers and 30 seconds and you back up and running..Very easy)
can handle 3000 psi...Temp rang is 300 degrees

this comes in 1/2 inch only ...but is very easy to reduce down with a couple of bushings..

Wintrax....part # 7475 for the swivel and 7475K for the rebuild kit.......1-800-443-0676

I ran these on my Vortex and now I run them on my thermal wave....and have yet to rebuild one...

So how do you keep hoses from frying, cracking, and busting? Your reel must not put as much strain on the first hose.

I thought about going to live reels with 150' on each reel, with the first 25' 3/8".

When I ran my solution reel live the first hose would always break down and get black death, and it always happened where the hose first came off the reel.

I guess it depends on the reel.
