Tell me why?

Why do they insist on WHITE LINEN fabric for the sofas on SUPER YACHTS??

WHY do I get picked to clean these cotton picken' things.??

In this instance, I found the Rotovac upholstery tool to be the best.

Jimmy, "Super Yacht" is the world wide name given to luxurious boats, regardless if they are sail or motor boats.

The blue yacht, is the one that I have been working on, along with their bamboo, wool velvet & Gold Lurex carpets.

This is registered in Malta.

The motor boat alongside, to the left, is one that I'll be working on all of next week.

Sorry, found another pic, so next weeks boat is in the next post.

Used to clean a yacht of a local billionaire. White wool carpet in the engine room.

It's very common on big boats because it's non-flammable and pretty durable.

White and lighter colors also seem odd, but there are usually guidelines regarding footwear worn by both guests and crew.

Always spotless. Apparently, the mechanics are scared shitless of letting something drip on the carpet. Always have drop sheets. Done just to impress the visitors, look at the spotless white carpets in the engine room! Pain in the neck to clean but the guy I was working for was charging some like $4 per sqft. 120 foot yacht with 4 decks. Average job with protector was $6-8 grand and took about 4 hours.

May not even be allowed to board some big'uns with black sole shoes that are not non-marking.

Also gotta be suuuuper careful not to mark any surfaces like decks, bulkheads, rails, portholes etc,.....guaranteed even the smallest mark will be noticed.

All of the boats that I have worked on, have required that footwear be left on the dock or rear deck.

It may go against workplace health & safety acts, but hey, it's their boat & if I want to make good money, then I will do as they request.

After all, I've never had a workplace injury since I started in 1971, well before these acts came into being.

Back then, it was a case of being responsible for your own actions & we did not sue for our own stupidity.

Mind you, all of these boats have overseas registration so I do not know if they have special dispensation.

All of the local boats require you to wear footwear, not necessarily safety footwear, these are usually tourist vessels where everyone wears some type of footwear (except maybe the crew).
