Whittaker gearbox sounds rough

Anybody have experience with the gearbox on a whittaker?

Mine sounds rough.

Thinking about pulling the gearbox cover and inspecting.

The gears are plastic and strip out occasionally. There is a parts diagram and order form on their website. The gears are super easy to replace, the bearings however are VERY difficult to replace. The bearings are set in place with something like tread-lock and must be heated to break the bond before they can be removed. I cracked the housing trying to get one out. Next time a bearing goes out I’m sending it in for service.
