When did LM (low moisture) become VLM (very)?

Do any of you old timers recollect when the Very was added, and why?

I doubt I've had any influence on it at all, but in my classes and the training manual that I have used for a few decades, I had two cleaning methods described like this:

1. Low Moisture/Low pH. This method was the use of a neutral preconditioner applied by a mist or a foam, then followed by rinse extraction using a "dry tool" (Upholstery Pro, Drimaster, Etc) and an acid rinse.

2. Very Low Moisture. This method was at first dry foam cleaning with a sponge, and now the use of a neutral "encap product", followed by extraction using an orbital buffer and a cotton or microfiber towel.

I believe Joey Pickett uses similar terms as well.

I haven't liked using "encap cleaning" as a term for upholstery cleaning, as the concept of applying a product, brushing it in, then vacuuming a day later just doesn't make sense for fabric cleaning. The immediate removal of soil with an orbital buffer leaves the fabric dryer, softer, and nearly residue free.

Still, I doubt my upholstery cleaning concepts have made any impression in the thinking of the average VLMer out there.
