I always thought that the hotter the water is cleaning the wool, the more pungent the smell becomes. If you clean the wool with as cool of a water as you could, then the odor should be minimal

If you Einsteins figure it out, you can add it to all the other useless stuff in Bawbs room.
Oh Marty! Where have you been my whole life? That wise information has changed my life for the better!!! Let's all bow to Marty the great. His wise replies are so valuable to our needy little inferior minds.

Did that help?

I was hoping for an answer as well.
Has nothing to do with temp and or cleaning product being used, in my experience.

Why don't you have Ms. Travis or any wool expert answer that.
Also (not same issue) about some of the wool rugs that come with a strong odor that nothing seem to be able to take out.

We have herds around here they go by once in a while, they're great weed wackers.

I guess it's the wet dog effect a dog smells wet so when we clean wool especially with bi sulfite in some of theses natural fiber cleaners it reeks.

But ya not always. I wonder if more or less processing of the wool makes a difference?

Like a raw cotton to a more refined cotton.
