Matt, My complete guess is going to be that you've not posted enough to gain access/permission. I tried to see someone's profile and was told the same thing that I did not have permission to look at someone posted as their profile.

There is a post count and account age threshold for certain privileges including but not limited to signatures, link posting, profile viewing, and group PMs.

that whole "click here to join" thing to complicated for you?
the chad (political) and rubber (religious) rooms require people to join because of the offensive nature of the topics/post....it may take up to 5 minutes for access
