My skill set extends much further than being a sappy newlywed. I know nothing about cleaning, but fifteen years in retail, twelve of those in management, and a BS in writing make me knowledgeable in a lot of areas. Who knows, I might be useful here instead of being pure entertainment.
I have a challenge for you Darcie. I've been trying to find someone intelligent enough and knows a little bit about this business to do this. I'd like someone to write articles about carpet cleaning on Facebook that we could all share amongst ourselves and with our friends on fb. Articles about cleaning frequency, proper cleaning, health benefits, spot removal, benefits of protection, carpet vs hard floors and indoor air quality. I could do it but I want them to look like they came from an authority and we are just sharing them. So what do you and others think of the idea??

What do you mean, look like they came from an authority? You mean use citations from accredited sources?

And don't you think that anyone intelligent enough to write those articles for you wouldn't do it for free? :) Are there perks available in this challenge? :)

Whut?
Since when is a good old fashion "thank you" not enough Darcie? :winky:

j/k

There's a sucker born every minute. I was born a couple seconds after that guy.

I know how men operate: hey look, a new chick. What can she do for me? :) This chick is willing and able to help, you just have to apply through her rooster :)

Sometimes different is good, sometimes just different. I would have to surmise that Sapphire went to a drive shaft like Hydramaster and Cleanco because it's proven to work well. Don't fear the shaft! Greasing the bearings from under the hood takes a $10 extension tube (cheaper if you make it from a scrap of tubing like we did) and involves maybe a minute of your time.

PS: In this application, greaseless bearings fail faster than the ones that need an occasional pump of grease. Swapping bearings or replacing a damaged shaft is a lot more painful than a minute every other month adding grease. And, unless you're a complete baboon and don't notice overfilling the fitting, it doesn't throw grease all over the engine compartment.

PPS: Fortunately all of that stuff between the seats in a CDS is covered by a "doghouse" that easily lifts out with no latches or bolts to undo. It also hides the fact that all of those fiddly bits have been removed from the engine cover, so removal of the cover is easier than shown in the video.

I figured you'd buy me lunch one day...oh I know you won't offer. I figure we would talk about your new machine. I'll have lunch and after a couple of glasses of tea excuse myself for the restroom and not return. Just stiff you with the bill. :icon_twisted:

Be sure to tip big. I would if I were paying! LOL

Its gonna be lots of fun!!!

I paid for Saigers lunch, even though he talked my ears off the whole time and I never got a word in.

So, I won't mind paying for someone who's English I can't understand.
ohh hell Junior, thats just the begininng. You better leave with me when I order a round of drinks. LOL

I'm not bringing any cash or credit card I'm gonna sleep in the lobby. ; ) Lotsa fun!!!

Until now, I was under the impression the Ozzie always had a clue about what he was talking about.
Alas, not any longer :winky: Well, as the say- Nobody is perfect

It takes a minute to do it when you send an email from your managerial desk to your vehicle maintenance crew to do it.

It takes a lot longer in real life. And with the CDS's it is also messy. At least with the models I had. I owned various CDS's from 1990 till 2014.

The zirks are not always available (reachable) from the engine side. Unlatching the engine cover from inside takes a while because most of us have stuff there. Yes, on the passenger side.
The cover gets grease inside (that's what greased zirks will do to you, once the spinning gets going) which is a bit of a mess when you remove. Also when you put it back. And yes, you will have to clean them chairs!

The engine's inside cover and latches wear with time, as well as the felt insulation ring. As well as the cut they do in the cover to be able to put it over the shaft. Eventually the screws rip the cover. As well as the rubber ring that seals the bottom of the cover from engine heat. That rubber seal gets old and more heat finds its way into the driving chamber. Positive side? you won't need to crack up that heater in the winter.

Of course when you demote (sell) your vans every 5 years and have a service department to take care of little thingies, life seem easier, faster and a hell of a lot more convenient.

On the other hand it may be the coffee in Seattle. I heard it's excellent.
