If you extracted with an encap added to your rinse would you be able to just run the cimex without adding more encap? How dry was the carpet after extraction when you started encapping?

Great job, I did a nightclub like that a few weeks ago, the other cleaner made the place look like a football field, we prescrubed with a cimex, steam cleaned and then shampoo'd with the cimex. It still wicked up. Dropped the account, they only wanted to pay .12 cents sqft and have cleaned every 2 weeks, should've been triple that!

Maybe because we rinse with an ammoniated encap or because we leave them very dry but ours don't brown. Currently pretreating with flex-citrus boosted with 1 cup per gallon of peroxide. We do some enormous commercial with heavy traffic that only clean yearly. We don't post pad anything. The zipper makes the process easier and fast. You can stand on a paper towel after 2 cleaning passes and 2 dry passes and its just barely wet after a 10 count. It was much harder to get it that dry with the wand. 400-600 psi depending on soil load.

Well Mikey if that is what you call "real dual process carpet cleaning" then I guess we have a different idea of what the purpose of dual process CC is all about. Unlike you I do not employ dual process to fix what I ruin in the first place.
I have never browned out a carpet but I have repaired the brown out damage caused by others.

Take a minute and try and understand what we were INTENTIONALLY accomplishing on that job.

Flushing soil out (you can't do this with VLM) then encapsulation for appearance and longevity.

The best of both worlds.

Encap alone in a school is not something a moral human considers.

And real carpet cleaners don't leave browning for vlm goober to come "fix".

Real Carpet Cleaners know when browning will occur and are prepared to correct it.

And yes, VLM of any sort will not cause browning unless you over wet an area by falsely thinking your are removing soil with additional passes.

Just a couple of questions. I thought Browning was caused by Cellulose fabrics, jute ext. I did not think it was immediate. I call what is happening "Mud-Up"-"tm". Improper dry soil removal over time and when you go over it with a high flow wand you get mud up. What did your filters or waste water look like? I bet brown or muddy. I see a lot of that type of "browning' on bull nose of stairs that don't get proper regular vacuuming.

Call it what you want, like you said Ron, lack of dry soil removal, mud making from prior cleaners..

Even a low flow party guy would see this happen in this carpet.

We could have used a RE but it would have taken longer and still browned a bit.

You can come up with all the excuses you would like but the truth is that browning out is caused from over wetting and the more times it has been over wetted the more susceptible It is to browning out. How bad did it stink ? Has dry rot set in yet ?

How do you expect to better yourself if all you do is come up with excuse ?

CGD is susceptible to wicking. It doesn't have to be over wetting to wick. Its glued down and doesn't allow the airflow that carpet & pad does.

I don't think, I know.

The only real fix would be pit washing or replacement.

School, fields, sand boxes, back pack vacuums used once a week, ten plus years old..

Lockhart and Lippold saw that carpet, a RE used enough to get the water to run clear risks melting the glue.
