What an idiot - of course you get good dry times Marty....

The high pressure Castex wand works up to 500 p.s.i. and comes with stainless steel jets, two 9502s on the outside and an 11002 in the center.

3 02's LOL -

Hey Marty if you change them to 01's you'll get even better dry times and the wand will be even easier to push.

And you think you are actually cleaning??

I don't even think Harold could push any type of wand in his advanced age..

His bones are hollow and brittle from lack of any muscle building activity.

Jimmy you're in trouble now, Tony is passing through Omaha in December and he is bringing his bull whip to show you how it works!

Rex have you ever figured out that with those holes you have half the opening of a regular wand.Going from say a 2 inch circle to a 1 inch circle.

Duh slot velocity!!! The restriction occurs at the fiber not in the 1.5" by 6' cast aluminum shaft, that is robbing that fine machine of yours of performance.

And how do explain the restriction caused by your holes?

That is choking your system even more.

What part of slot velocity is confusing for you Jimmy? :p

And once again it keeps the wand lips from locking down on the backing of the carpet. Allowing air flow with negative pressure to flow through the fiber. But I guess lock down is probably not an issue with a 1.5" wand. Not much left for recovery.

The Castex wand does an OK job, as one of the mills has pointed out.

A couple of things to discuss:

1. Jets point straight down into the carpet.
(I'm Ok with that)

2. Wand Handle is skinny and not comfortable

3. Stainless lips and a big open gap at the ends.
(I'm not OK with the air gap)

4. Aluminum body won't handle the wear & tear technicians put a wand thru.

5. Sharp angle at the edges limit airflow.

6. Imperial Valve quality not up to latest standards.

7.. $657 is too high for an aluminum wand of limited durability.

My prochem TI has major drippage. Other than that, the best wand I have used to date. Still working on the drips.
Mine use to slobber like a ST Bernard.......

Mine has check valves and some one suggested to tighten the spring down some and I have not had a drop in quite a while....

rebuilt the valve(no drips from the jets before the rebuild, only leaking at stem), new check valves, new jets, more drips. Took apart today, stainless washer under seat is not flat. I'm going to try old washer tomorrow.

Hi Larry. I've beaten the hell out of my Castex for over 2 years now and have had no problems.

I'm not the performance expert that many of you are, but I do know class when I see it. It is, without a doubt, the best looking wand on the market.

Only complaint: It is very susceptible to clogging. Gotta keep a Rambo knife in the van to clean it out occasionally.

Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. I am more impressed with the performance than the looks. I think everyone is clear on my opinion of its performance. 2 years huh. wow  .

Jets can be moved Larry! It has adjustable jets .

Who in their right mind has a wands jets pointed straight down?
Poorly designed wands have that.

The "AIR" gap on the ends was designed so the wand doesn't LOCK down.

The switch over to a PMF 800 psi valve is a must.

The hand grip can be replaced with a more substantial one.....easy fix.

My wand is over ten years old.

I will agree the wand is overpriced as most of the premium wands are.

So Larry how soon will we be seeing the castex wand on your website?

In the earlier pic of the wand , the jets look like they are adapted for a better attack spray towards the wand lips. I've been thinking of doing that with mine, lower the jets and give them about a 40 degree angle of attack so the water just scoops into the glide. Should improve performance again.

Rex with that Quad 56 and its LOW lift I can see why you would go with a POS Greenie Glide hack wand.Getting tired of stooping down to pick up a loose piece of string it won't suck up?

Low recovery.

Still dripping at what temp? If you are over 240º I'm gonna say it will still drip some and will probably spray a light mist still when you first come off the trigger, super hot water keeps the checkies from checking until it cools a bit.

Try that 6 jetter without checks....it really drips.

Dude lay off the paint thinner. You are starting to hallucinate. If your Q 56 won't suck up a piece of string you definitely need a better wand. I never had that problem even when I was using a glided pos 802. Let alone the Green horn. The 2.5" upgrade with a 2" wand puts the Q56 in a whole new class. But I guess for a tired old man such as your self too much air flow and available lift at the wand slot may be too much work.

Rex I get high off of smelling my own farts.

Got any pics of your 2.5 upgrades?

What have you got your lift set at?

I can understand about that POS 802 but the POS Castex is the real deal.

Green one, It's dripping when cold. The stainless washer that came with the kit was ever so slightly warped so I re-installed the old one. Seemed to all but stop it.

Jimmy;

Here you go:

castex.jpg

It's a year old. Angle too sharp @ the edges for good airflow.

Where do you want to start the bidding at ???

Center Jet fixed, pretty much straight down.

At least our stainless wands don't have all the paint falling off.

Drips when cold, sounds like the valve.

Since pitching the bent washer how is it now?

Green one, the drips have almost stopped. I need to use it a little to get some heat down there. Might just settle it in if you will and stop all together.

I like the Slot on the TI wand. @ 400 psi I'm getting about 45 min dry times now because of the angle of the jets and the fact that it uses a little less water(droplet size too) than my pmf. I'm liking it!
