You also have to take into account the residual value of the system when it's time to sell it.
Everybody isn't like Hagopian who magically seems to sell their used units for 10% less than the fleet deal they get from Butler.

I think your system makes a ton of sense for you guys Brian...

Richard how old was the newest Van powered unit you have sold in the last 10 years? Residual isn't a big factor for you is it?

Dispense enough garbage and some of it is bound to come your way.

I like to think of myself as a "true" specialists, like a hitman.
You need me I'm ready. Did that fly? Yea or nay?

Just learned another thing about the Butler set up today...

Their front fan blade is positioned special, because they cool the entire system....not just the van motor...

Also found out, they trim off the fan shroud so they can get perfect set with the after market fan, and get max cooling, so...can get max heat out of the Butler too.

There is more R&D done so the Butler AND the VAN, get maximum durability....

Just a little something I learned and needed to share....AND...

There might be a Butler "Special offer" at the show too.... ;)

The pro-1200 (I have the 2014, version not the latest) is a great machine.
The few times I actually bothered to look, it was about 230 or so at the machine. Once you get going its pretty steamy at the carpet and feels hot too. Great vacuum.
And so far it has been trouble free.

Tons of storage room with the L shaped recovery tank. And much better priced. Makes residual value meaningless, as you pay a lot less.

OK...ya'll talk about how trouble free the direct drive TM is..

but what about the vans??

are there more repairs on the van it's self compared to running slide-ins??

cooked wiring under the hood
water pumps
Tranny

do they have a higher rate of failure in DD's compared to slide ins??

I've been running slide-in for 25 years.
never blew a tranny, never replaced a water pump , never had a wiring/computer failure.
and only one of the half dozen vans I've owned were new

That's why Butler does to much R&D on their units....

To avoid those kinds of problems...

I just keep finding out how much R&D they do....and get a new surprise it seems every time I talk to them....

We have had units with thousands of Butler hours (and those extra run time miles) as well as the hundreds of thousand road miles on the vans...

One Butler and GMC still going has 250,000 road miles and over 11,000 hours equivalent to about 613,000 miles on the original motor and drive trane.

My brother Kirk, just sold a 2000 GMC and Butler (for $8000 yet) that had 200,000 road miles and 8000 hours on the Butler...equivalent to 464,000 miles on that motor...

Still not taking any oil, think maybe a water pump replaced in that unit once, but not sure....

Any issues I have had with my current newer van have all been Factory recalls (that they finally let us know about being covered)

So....I keep finding out what (and why) Butler does to get max durability out of their units AND VANS! :)

Butler is for the carpet cleaner. The guy who wants to push a button and go to work. They have been producing a VERY similar design for like 35 years or something. It probably won't impress the mechanic who LOVES to tinker. I don't like to tinker...at all. I'd rather be cleaning carpet and making $. I can say that Cleanco has fit that bill very well for me as well.

It lets you concentrate on the job at hand, rather than the noisy lawn mower engine that's screaming in the customers driveway. I have way more confidence in the reliability of a van powered system. I feel like it puts out a more polished, professional image to my residential clients too.

If I did restoration, I MIGHT consider a slide in.
