I was...because thats just plain BULLLLLL SHITTTTTT

I could give a flying fart what race he is.....or wtf his name is.....

I get tired of the continuous middle finger he chooses to fly around at what this country is founded on.......

and to be clear....it has nothing to do with the religious aspect of it.....the in god we trust part...in case you were missing it....THAT part is a whole other topic.....

Buckle up John. Tough road ahead.
We are an optimistic bunch though. After all we survived W and we survived Reagan.

Thanks for the offer. If things get tough for us, I'll come over for the crumbs. I know where you live .

Well..............we'll just have to annex Utah. We never liked the number 50 anyhow. 49 is so much more................... biblical

Mike, If you are really serious with this comment(I never know if your just yanking chains) you are completely ignorant when it comes to the motivation of conservatives. Philosophy matters to us.
And tomorrow it will gain it all back..

If Obama was a proud white american with pedigree papers and slightly more translucent puppets strings you'd all be hootin and hollerin up a different tree.

Darn, playing the race card already and right after winning the election? Imagine in two more years how bad they're gonna be?

As for the original discussion ... I have a job to go to, but I will be back later ...

I used to think that these people had no idea about how much debt we have, how much money we are printing and hadn't thought about the fact that someday we won't be able to borrow or print anymore money but I've come to the conclusion that they do know and they just don't care. They are just hoping it won't happen in their lifetime, kids and grandkids be damned.

What makes you say that about his color/race? I thought he was as white as he is black... So to bring up race is not a good argument.

I personally don't give a crap about his race. He could be Jar Jar Binks and be president as far as I'm concerned but if his policies are not to my liking then I have a problem with him.

I honestly don't think about him as "black guy" ...I think about him as a human. End of story.

I write this as I'm often not considered white either....so go figure.

Me thinks Mikey was hittin on the agave koolaid a wee bit early today.

In the real world, a wise business owner will stick with his / her business plan weather the wind blows east or left and will make changes as growth and new ideas or goals reveal themselves.

With that being said, if my current business plan included risking large outlay of capital for expansion, I would delay the action due to the uncertain impact government regulation and taxation will have upon my operation in the near future in an environment of hope and change.

I would not be hoot'n for any of the two that ran. I can not believe that this is the best we can do for our country. Congress only votes along party lines. With the puppets we have the voting booth might just as well of said Dem. or Rep., Oh yes or write in rosie. There seems to be more pride in the football studs of the week BS than in being President of the United States of America. How cool does that sound The President of the United States of America. I need to demand more and be more active than I am. Early New Year Resolution.

I am beyond DISGUSTED right now.

It isn't about our business or whether we will survive the storm....it's about our country and way of life.

And to think I organized about 100 locals with pick up trucks to drive to D.C. and move his ASS out of the WhiteyHouse.

God Help us all.

I don't think Romney was the best the Republicans had to offer. I think the best was too smart to run against the first black president in American history. Anybody with walking around sense would know the news media and hollywood would be all googly over the man and trade unions, government workers, welfare recipients and social security beneficiaries would vote in mass for him. I think the better Republican candidates are probably biding their time for 2016 ... hoping there is enough of free America left to rescue.

1) We may be the United States of the European Union by then ... with the same fiscal problems and austerity programs as Europe.

2) Or, we could have blistfully avoided global warming, have every citizen covered in the best health care program in the world, have our nation debt down to 70% of GDP and be enjoying 4% unemployment.

I'm expecting the first and hoping for the second ... but not holding my breath.

The South is burning mad? Hmmm ... the few (and I do mean few) carpet cleaners that I allow to be my friends on FB are all in the northern states, and they are howling mad. I don't see it as a Southern thing. It might be a Christian thing, but not just a Southern thing.

Not too happy about Obama being re-elected for sure.

BUT we are far,far away from armageddon
Yes we have a national debt of $16 Trillion but national assets in the $150trillion range

People are constantly talking about the debt,{ including me} but you have to measure that debt up against assets.Which is still a workable number.

The rest of the world combined still is not even close to us in assets, so the end of the world may be coming.
Just not anytime soon.

the first one to cry about being labeled as a racist is usually the worst of them all.

If Obama had a nice normal white sounding name like "Sidney Poitier or Denzel Washington" and didn't have all these ties to non christian b(l)ack grounds he would have killed the Mormon even worse.

you mean he shoulda stuck with barry?

heres some food for thought....... maybe things will get better! at this point it is in both parties best intrest to comprimise and get things done especialy with so many peoples asses on the line in the 2014 mid terms. I do not share john olsons epiphony that 1 bad day on the stock market means fiscal doomsday is un avoidable. I do believe that as business owners we need to learn from the good times and the bad and understand that peaks and valleys are part of owning a business and nothing is guranteed. It was my understanding that true capitolism means that only the strong survive , and while we are guranteed to be able to give somthing our best effort success and prosperity are never guarnteed.

Most of use will still be here this time next year. It is possible what we may be a bit poorer, taxed a bit more, and living in an America that is not what we want it to be, but we will probably still be around and somewhat free ... compared to the third world ... but I really don't want my grandkids living in an America that has to be compared to a third world country before it can feel good about itself. I want one that is economically fibrant, socially responsible, and as disingauged in other countries business as it practically possible. And I really don't want to be paying for your kids braces and your Auntie Ann's trip to the cosmetic surgeon.

But, I will help you buy groceries if you are truly disabled or can't find work.

That wish is rife with possibilities, Marty. Less pork more vegetables might do it.

So you want the empire back?
China and Europe back in their rightful place. Say..... the Marshall plan. Russia preferably back to pre-revolution time. And the far east back to their appropriate third world status.

In other words, you want the clock rolled back, your lost manhood returned and your naivete restored. No questions asked.

You probably also want the food to taste as good as it did when you were five.
Would you like to sip a milkshake or sarsaparilla, while we go back in your time machine?

Not really,

I'm more concerned with what that person is going to do in office the color of skin or shape of eyes is irrelivent particularly because the president doesn't really set policy the party does Democrat and Republican. If government, really these two political parties can control the economy then the economy should be great and everyone should have jobs..how's that working for many Americans?

Forget the chump change of 16+ trillion national debt for a second and consider the fact that this country is facing a 119+ trillion dollar deficit for Medicare, medicare, prescription drug program and Social Security. most state are in similar looming fiscal crisis. This isn't "new"... it was projected decades back way before Obama, Bush, Clinton, so what exactly have these "leaders" really the two parties been doing? it's more of the same public bribing on both sides we need to spend more on "education" "energy" "defense" everyone ignores the issue as if it will magically go away?

Had the Republicans been elected the biggest difference short tem would have been the emotional state of our union. How many here have really informed themselves on how broken Washington is? This country is way beyond sitting around on tailgates and coffee tables (or forums) yelling and screaming about whether the current or next President is going to steer the nation back to solvency and happyness.

Forget the oval office for a minute. Haul off and do your homework about what the Federal regulators did or didn't do that steered us into almost finacial collaps, and how little things have changed or the players. Find out how much damage special interest lobbyests have done to our Congress and continue to do day after day after day. We're all being porked folks, collectively, everyone. We've been asleep for lord knows how long and Washington has gotten way out of control. You want to harbor aggressive emotions, go kick a lobbyest square in the jewels before he's allowed to seduce an already weak congressman/woman.

Washington needed serious remodeling before this election and nothing has changed about that.

What will be pursued in the short term by our President and the Senate:

* Ending the Bush tax cuts ie an increase that impacts all

* Mr. Obama has already told the United Nations that he wants to discuss their small arms treaty, translation he wants to allow the UN to control our availability of hand guns and long guns

* The EPA is continuing to increase standards on air polution from power plants that will likely close 20% of the coal fired units thus increasing electricity a great deal (our President bragged tht this would likely increase electricity astronomically)

* The gradual implimentation of Obama care is already impacting hiring only part timers etc. and other companies are not hiring at all looking to OUTSOURCE

I've worked in the insurance industry for 25 years and cleaned carpets for 35+

We are going to mirror Europe with more socialist leanings with much higher taxes on income, and dozens of taxes on many small areas that will add up but like a very small needle will not hurt a bit except when they all go in at once.

Those that work hard and spend below their means and think ahead will be OK.

Those who think government is the answer to their lives will do worse and not understand why.

Keep the faith.

You can't have it both ways, you can't have tax cuts and more spending? This year our country will spend 3.6 trillion and take in 2.3 trillion dollars resulting in a 1.3 trillion deficit, its been this way for the last 40+ years democrat and republican.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/omb/budget/fy2013/assets/tables.pdf

it's projected that social entitlement programs will cost 40% of the USA GDP in the future in today's dollars at today GDP that's about 6.4 trillion dollars or 2.75% larger than the total revenue of the federal budget. Collectively it's our fault, we deserve a huge tax increase AND cuts to social, Heath care programs, education, public safety. As with law ignorance is no excuse people voted for parties and polices that allowed this to happen ....it's yours, mine and everyone else's responsibility.

You missed the part about me wanting an America that is "disengaged in other contries business as it practically possible." I don't really care where Russia and China unless they are bothering us, or our allies.

Phillip.....most companies are look to GET RID OF OUT SOURCING.... for things like security, janitorial, etc.....

because its not feasible for outsourcing to hire and then pay the insurance etc. When the companies can do it themselves....
