What is/was the most successful/popular "Coupler" TM ever?

Ive contemplated using a split coupler. I don't see any disadvantage just don't want to be in the middle of a job and the thing decides to give out on me.

I've been running a solid coupler but I do like the advantage of the split coupler.. you don't have to move the blower or engine to replace it like you do with the solid coupler..

My friend leveled my motor with the blower and wanted to put a "guide" basically a piece of angle iron on the sides of my blower to keep it straight when the time comes..

We made an all SS frame with a slide plate for the motor, made changing couplers and belts easy.

I also moved the pump drive pulley to the engine side to take some load off the coupler.

I have a single B-58 belt, with Motion Industries tensioner over-driving a Roots #45 blower, that has over 5500 hours on it.

Steamway Powermatic has to be number Juan.

They used to be everywhere here.
Few yrs back 4 of us that I know of ran them.

Always used the Juan piece couplers. Lasted several yrs between swaps.
I don't think the split design are as tough.
