I usually make it a habit to replace my solution hoses at the beginning of summer. I like the Goodyear hose, but don't like them blowing out. Aerotech no longer has the smooth hose with these strain relieve ends so I had my new hoses up fitted.

I just had some continental delivered today. I ordered 300ft. I was just ordering 100ft once/year, but it's been a long time since I ordered all the hose. I figured it was time to start fresh this summer as well

Parflex lasts for years and years.

Not always. Got some blue from Greenie and it lasted about 7 years.
Bought some yellow/orange and got about 100 jobs before it started ballooning at the crimps and leaking.
It would be understandable if it was the lead hose by the wand due to flexing but it is not.

I was cleaning some steps on a commercial job last month. 2 steps left...TWO steps. The fookin BAD-Day hose blows spewing molten hot lava water all over. I unhook the vac hose and cover the solution hose. I yell up top for the crew that is Encaping the main floor to shut me down.

I spend the next 30 minutes washing walls with renovate. : (

For some reason the blue is also less springy and more manageable then the yellow/orange.

I wonder if it gets too hot since its closest to the truck. Parflex has a lower temp max. Maybe do a good year 25 from truck to door then Parflex through the house.

just need to spend a few weeks getting use to it's memory.

I've had the same 100' lead parker(orange) hose for almost five years. I do run a 50' of steel braid to keep the heat down for Miss Parker. Never an issue, been hand coiling it from day one and no memory what so ever. Well worth the money(180$).

I'd rather not buy hose every year. :headscratch:

Parflex is the shit! I agree with the orange/yellow being difficult also.. I thought it would break in, but it hasn't happened. Nice thing is you can put your ends on at home, and it's light as hell, and it won't leave unremovable snake lines in the carpet, and no black death. Why anyone would use Goodyear in a house is beyond me..

I hate Goodyear but we still use it. I took it off the trucks until I cleaned some last summer and hated the memory. I bought 100 foot lead lines and just cut the ends back and move them out as they age. Parker is so much safer and you get pinprick leaks not black death but the memory drove me crazy.

Short term, it sure is! BUT Parflex will out last that garbage for years!

When I worked for my disty I tried to push guys to PP while putting new ends on their garbage hose, but they were too cheap. They actually pay more maintaining their shit hose(yearly)then buying real quality and not having to worry about it for a long time.

What color?

We roll it out, but the orange/yellow stuff seems to be worse to deal with.. All and all when you get use to it (make yourself do so) it is the best hose in our industry!

I think Continental bought the neptune from Goodyear. My new continental hoses say neptune on them. And they feel the same as the goodyear. I guess I need to plan to replace them this time next year:hopeless:

Is there any video footage on howcthis is done? I've never tried this before, for the parker.

I have been using Goodyear hose for 30 years, only have had two pieces blow out. Contrary to popular believe hose is not supposed to last forever;)

The only problem I have with the par flex is the memory. Mind you, I"ve got lots of reminder from my goodyear when I wear shorts.
