Its only taken me two or three years, but I’ve finally learned to love my Zipper wand. I had just a little over 5000 sf of cut pile commercial carpet, in a bank, to clean today. While Brady was cleaning the ceramic, slate and vinyl, I got to play around with the carpet.

If this had been a weeknight job, I would have used the Devastator wand, because I would have wanted to make certain it dried before the next day. To be certain of that with the Zipper, I would have felt it needed drying passes and that seems to slow me down to the point that it doesn’t save any time. Since it had until Monday to dry, I flew through with the trigger pulled blowing and going!

Now I can be in love with the Zipper.

Almost as much as Mr. Happy.

One slight downside though. I may be bedridden by tomorrow. Pushing and pulling that Zipper is totally different from wanding! This is only the second time I’ve used it on a big, hours long job. My arthritic back didn’t handle it as well as the wand movement.

I almost called Stephen to see if he wanted to come down and watch a real carpet cleaner work, but didn’t want to have to buy his lunch. I was already having to feed Jr.

Did you skip the dry passes? I'm asking because I'm still figuring out the Zippy myself.

Yes
It’s clearly stated in the first post
Idiot! You did not clearly say you did dry passes. You said, "I would have felt it needed drying passes and that seems to slow me down to the point that it doesn’t save any time."

"Felt" are you a fooking woman? I don't deal with feelings. "I felt" does not mean "I did". So who needs to be clear here?

Matt, you, you also :)

I hope you overcome your pain. Glad to hear you gave it a good try.

I have one more Pancakes house to do when I get back.

I'll try the Zipper again on it.

She and I were not getting along on this carpet but maybe the Power Burst Butyl Bomb and a fresh Red will mend our marriage
