SO YOU WANT TO DO 6-8 jobs a day? Or, 2-3, and make more money?.......
I want a crew of techs to do 6-8 jobs a day. Actually, 6-8 empty rooms.

Steady income, less liability, happier employees, and high quality. And if you get in the right companies, they'll give your business enough work to keep it going. I'm not gonna push a wand in my 70's. And only those millionaires want the owner or a very well known tech to go in their mansions

That’s my point Matt.... become a Jedi master at this, and ALL else falls into place... at least that’s what I’m striving for....

BTW, IF YOU ARE NEVER CHALLENGED, NEVER OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE, HOW THE FOOK ARE YOU GOONG TO BECOME BETTER AT WHAT YOU DO?......
I'm challenging myself right now with jumping into a company that has over 50 complexes. I'll be meeting with their corps next week. I've never attempted to tackle a contract this big.

CJ can handle both end of the market.

Most cant.

He should come out and watch my thugs the next time they go out to service Mr Smithers ..
I’m not sure who Mr Smithers is (other than Homer’s neighbor) but I would love to go out with your crew when you’ve got some high end customers on the schedule. There are always things to be learned.

More staff can also mean waay more headaches than any client will ever give you.
I used to manage 200 staff on a daily basis, we used to say 90% your problems come from 10% your staff which meant on any 1 day there were 20 individuals who would give me tourettes
I worked in construction for almost 18 years.... I managed between 5-150 guys on all projects.... yup, personal was my biggest headache....

It was my wife
Last week
I thought it was you. I hope she's alright.

My point was, I don't want to have to do that any time soon. I feel that I need to get off the truck in the next ten years to prevent that

I just feel that there’s so much more, less stressful, and just as profitable work out there where you can make the same amount of money.
Way less stress for me to work for high end types. Easier work because they don't let it get dirty in the first place, they pay much better and have more things to clean...rugs and upholstery. Less jobs but more money. Bonus is I don't have to compete with the SS type companies at all...these folks don't call them. But they would if they met CJ. Smart guy and good worker as well.

I think u meant Mr. Burns, smithers was his gay assistant.

There is such a thing as running techs and still doing high end.

all markets are different though, if I was in a smaller market with not very many $mil homes Idk what I would do.... but here a $mil+ home sometimes is pretty modest.
I did a really really shitty $800,000 townhome today, worst construction Ive ever seen.. only 4yrs old and falling apart underneath the guy.

@Mikey P Your base operation, was that started as a premium service or was it something that developed?

Do your techs still go out and do trashed rentals or have you priced yourself completely out of that market?

Reason I ask Is my busy season (starting to wind down) I could of employed a person with work I was turning away, but I'd have no work through my winter.

But I cover all markets from lets nuke this filthy rentals with poly to nice homes, wall to wall wool, hand knotted rugs, natural fibre upholstery etc

I'm no expert but I think I'd find it hard to train a tech to cover all bases?

Does CJ know of the Hagopian purple template or perhaps the 50 truck empire of Modernistic or even the little old black lady monopoly of Bob Vawter ...so many niches to fall into!

The start of this conversation was with talking about CJ's setup and adding this type of service to his, already booming empire. My question to CJ is, even though you're comfortable where you are and very successful with a proven process of having great employees and making good money, why would you want to increase your liability just to make a little more money? Keep in mind, I'm referring to an employee, not the owner of the business driving that 5star black stanley van

If you go back to my first comment on this thread, that was the total reason I brought all those points up on that first post. I just can't see a reason to dramatically increase your risk of something bad happening, or losing a good, efficient tech who was good at knocking out those big commercial jobs just to clean Smithers' wall to wall wool and marble stone bathroom for $1500 when there's a $5000 job at the local Pharmacy Tech manufacturing building that needs 4 guys to knock it out in one day

In another thread CJ stated that 2 of 8 locations agitate with a CRB and that only one location uses a water rinse only. Now discussion of essentially running a second business under the same name. Isn't all this customization antithetical of the franchise concept of standardized processes, procedures, branding, etc.?

Simply a matter of cash flow. It was only 1 location until last week. Now it’s 2. I’ll slowly phase more and more locations in.

Now discussion of essentially running a second business under the same name.
I would never consider doing this unless it was a Corporately adopted concept and was going to be rolled out across the nation.

Products can have variances without losing the foundation of what they are. For example you can buy different levels of luxury in shopping for s new Ford F-150 (XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum Edition, etc...) fundamentally they are all F-150’s but the extras are not present amongst them all.

how does a mega truck outfit with a solid brand of value price for "Everymom" start a division of Hi-Roller Bells 'n Whistles Boutique brand?
....and keep the same name with long established solid nationally recognized brand?

I'm not a vury good bizman (fo-reel) but figure it'll take more than a black pearl paint job on the Stanwagon..
how's that going to work out when National Stan is running whole house $99 ads while the BlackStanVan is prospecting to get that much alone for large walk-in closet??

are we talking advertising an "El Primo" BlackStanWagon at triple and more the price under existing Stan brand biz model?
or a whole'nother spin off name 'n brand?

Of those two choices....
I think one could work
and the other could hurt

Some of the best ideas in history were a result of people shooting the shit and bouncing ideas off each other. Then again, that’s the same way some of the worst ideas were created as well.
