My first job today took me 5 hours. It was a nightmare MacMansion. 40 year old carpet that hadn't been cleaned in over 10 years. The lady got mad at me when I refused to move her Piano and washer/dryer. It would have required me to unhook all the water lines, gas lines, and dryer vent lines. Screw that!!!!!! She ended up calling a friend to move the washer/dryer. The piano stayed in place. I think they both found out what a pain it was and in the process they scratched up the linoleum. I'm so glad I planted my feet and stood my ground. I usually fold.

True, you are paying for cleaner carpet. However depending on YOU, I can act like an arse or I can be polite. I think you might be confusing people being polite with them wanting to be your friend... This generally happens when people have too high opinion of them self... This might be why they keep you in the office(away from clients)!

Those pianos, it's easy to break the legs unless you know how to move them. They have piano movers for a reason, just tell the lady to hire some and you will clean underneath. No problem.
