Got the Chevy back and did two jobs with it today. It starts right up and drives good. Still has a really rough idle though. I can hear a click/spark sound under the van every time it idles. Back to the shop. Taking it to the shop that fixed the Dodge this time.

Got the Chevy back today and it’s finally running good again. When the first shop put the wires in they used pliers and tore the insulation on most the wires. They used some silicone to try and patch one of them. Also the #8 wire was barely attached to the plug which was the spark I was hearing during the misfires. Got some new wires and the idle is back to normal.

Wow, moron mechanic. I had an oil change done at my Isuzu dealer, they forgot to put the cap back on the valve pan cover. Drove it to a job and started it up, ran fine for a couple minutes till it warmed up. Sprayed oil on the manifold, started to smoke pretty good, thought it was on fire. Called the dealership to get a cap and some oil. The mechanic that brought it over said that this happens more than you would think. 🤔🤔🤔

After driving by seeing my box truck sitting not being worked on at the nicest shop in town I stopped in to see if the had found the problem. The kid who took over his dads shop said "Well we drove it and it back fired and shot flames out the throttle body. It really scared my tech so we need to replace that first and then see what it does." I said no shit Junior that's what I told you when I brought it in 3 weeks ago. I know what it does, just not why it does it. I paid him for an hour shop time and took it down the road to a backyard towing and fix it guy behind the local weed shop. 45 minutes later he called. All fixed. Bad pickup coil wire in the new dist.

Just did the wires on the Express. Wow. Idles so much smoother. One wire at least was completely arced through. Plugs weren't great but Iv seen worse. Went with Iridiam-platinum because that's the only set they had. 20 minutes per side with the tire off. Way easier than I thought it was going to be. Heading back out to install an inverter. No more running a cord for the fire breather.
