does a Zipper or Bonzer perform two strokes?

Imo the lifting or clearing of the head/vac chamber defines each dry stroke, regardless of orifices..

I would say any pass forward or backwards without triggering solution.
How I have always done it in light to moderate soiled carpet is trigger the solution as the wand is pulled back to me, then dry stroke back up. Overlap and repeat. After the width of the area is completed, dry pass over the just cleaned area. On heavily soiled areas, I may trigger the solution in both directions then do extra dry passes to remove excess moisture.

Extra dry strokes for me @ 525 cleaning passes per minute solution on, followed by 525 drying passes per minute, solution valve off.
This is how I can offer the fastest unassisted drying times available.

Not nitpicking the wording, but consider this:

What we call "dry strokes" are actually passes of the wand that extract more water/soil/detergent. The carpet dries more quickly as a result of extra extraction passes, but it also is cleaner, with less detergent residue, and less chance of wicking and post cleaning bacterial odors.

There is yet to be a system invented that removes the dirty water and only leaves clean water in the carpet yarns.

Wet carpet is undercleaned carpet.

Most industries self-regulate to a degree and this industry should be no different.

There’s a certain FB that needs some industry self-regulation in order to protect the industry.

That group has thousands of new people thinking being a hack is cool, long as you’re stealing enough money from customers who choose to trust them.

I've chilled out on the IICRC. I was mad when they just couldn't get their act together and get me an ID card. Even after numerous calls and promises. But I've let that go. I see they are really trying to set some standards and are making a huge effort to keep up with the times.

The repair class I took was really good for me. I got lucky and had a pretty good hands on instructor. The odor control class.. so-so. I was hoping to learn something Earth shattering about knocking out odors. It just showed me that odors can be difficult at times.
